Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the upcoming era, all cars, buses and trucks will not have drive and people travelling in these transportation will be only passengers. It has both positive effect such as reduce accidents, save time and useful for disabled people whereas negative effects are expensive and unemployement.
To begin with, there are several advantages of driverless transportation. Firstly, it reduce accidents. To explain, when there won't be any people driving, techology will be more aware of others and will control the accidents. Secondly, it save time. Elaborating further, if individuals do not have to drive, they will be work free to drop others when they have to go out and drivers can focus on their personal life and their works. Lastly, It is useful for disabled people. To clarify, people who are disable need a person who take them their in any works and driveless vehicles will be there, they do not need any assistants.
On the other hand, there are also various disadvantages of driveless vehicles. The first demerits is it is expensive. Explaining it, individuals can not afford using driverless transportation which is the great difficulties for today generation. Similarly, the another negative effects is it increases unemployement. For instance, if automatic system control the vehicles, employement of drivers will be loop in some years and people have to suffer to provide even basic need to their family.
In conclusion, it has both merits and demerits of vehicles without driver. As we can see, advantages outweigh disavantages. Regarding my opinion, I believe, driverless transportation will be easier in the future where lot of obstacles have to face to the people who do not know how to drive and it will be flexible.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address the question by presenting advantages, disadvantages, and a clear view that the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. The points about reducing accidents, helping disabled people, cost, and driver unemployment are relevant. However, some are not fully explained: the claim that technology will be “more aware of others” needs a clearer account of how driverless systems prevent collisions, and the time-saving point is difficult to follow. The conclusion also introduces people who do not know how to drive, but this idea is not developed in the essay. To strengthen the response, explain the comparison behind your judgement—for example, why safety and accessibility benefits are more significant than job losses and expense—and support each main point with a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “Lastly,” and “On the other hand” make the progression easy to follow, and the reader can identify the main points. This meets the lower-band expectations and shows some features of stronger organisation. However, the repeated formula “To explain,” “Elaborating further,” and “To clarify” makes the links feel mechanical rather than natural. Some connections between sentences are also unclear, particularly the explanation of saving time and the final sentence about people who cannot drive. Use fewer signposts and make each supporting sentence directly explain or illustrate the point before moving on.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “driverless transportation,” “accidents,” “disabled people,” and “automatic system.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, collocation, word-form, and spelling errors make parts of the response awkward or unclear. Examples include “will not have drive,” “work free,” “the great difficulties,” and “employement.” The repeated use of “advantages,” “disadvantages,” and “driverless vehicles” also limits variety. Aim to learn accurate topic collocations and check spelling and word forms; for instance, describe vehicles as “driverless” or “autonomous,” and refer to “employment opportunities” or “job losses.” More precise vocabulary would make your explanations easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “if individuals do not have to drive” and “if automatic system control the vehicles.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction occur often enough to cause difficulty. For example, “it reduce accidents” and “it save time” need subject–verb agreement, while “people who are disable need a person who take them” contains several errors in the relative clause. Some sentences are also awkwardly joined, as in the opening sentence and the final sentence. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and checking each clause for a clear subject and verb. Greater control of these basics will make your complex sentences more effective.
