Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both the advantages and disadvantages of driverless vehicles. However, the position is not clearly stated in the introduction; while you mention both aspects will be discussed, you do not explicitly state whether the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. The ideas are relevant, such as safety and job loss, but they are presented in a list-like fashion rather than being fully developed with detailed examples or logical extensions. To improve, ensure you take a clear stance in the introduction and maintain it throughout the essay, providing more depth to your arguments rather than simply listing them.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and limited. For example, the transition between ideas within paragraphs is often abrupt. There is a lack of sophisticated linking words to show complex relationships between arguments. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the overall progression of ideas could be smoother. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') to connect sentences and paragraphs more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You use some basic terms like 'race' (instead of 'acceleration') and 'bad weather days'. There are also some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'loose their job' (should be 'lose') and 'driver less' (should be 'driverless'). While the meaning is clear, the lexical range is somewhat limited. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to technology and transportation, and pay closer attention to spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('a number of', 'the future'), pluralization ('bad weather days'), and punctuation. Some sentences are fragmented or lack proper subject-verb agreement, such as 'it provide a lot of convenience'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the flow. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, especially regarding articles and verb endings, and practice constructing more complex, error-free sentences.
