Student answer (Band 6.5)

Technology has become an integral part of human's life. It has transformed the way we communicate, transport, education and many more things. Some people believe that in the future all vehicles such as cars, buses and trucks will be automatic and there are passengers inside. I think driverless vehicles offer more benefits rather than drawbacks.

To commence with, there are numerous advantages of driverless cars. First and foremost, the numbers of road accidents will be decreased those cause due to carelessness of some drivers. In recent survey in the USA, has revealed that majority of road calamities is happen because of people. During early morning and at late night majority of drivers feel sleepy and cannot concentrate on driving. Second, automatic vehicles allow drivers to enjoy their journey with their kith and kin without any stress of driving. These is a significant benefit for those people who find driving exhausting and also disable ones who cannot drive.

Nevertheless, it has several pros, there are some setbacks as well. It will reduce jobs opportunities particularly, people who work in transportation such as driver in public buses and truck drivers who involve transporting goods and delivery boys or girls. Consequently, it hamper their financial growth. In addition to this, driverless vehicles require proper maintenances, regular services, daily adjustment of schedules and time as per requirements. These might increase pre-work for person.

To recapitulate, although having some disadvantages individuals still adore and welcome all driverless vehicles because nowadays adults enjoy using innovating things and they also believe in spice is change of life. They want more comfort rather than tedious driving.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, clearly stating a position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. The ideas are relevant, covering road safety and convenience as benefits, and job losses and maintenance as drawbacks. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the point regarding 'maintenance' is vague and could have been expanded with more specific examples. The conclusion is a bit weak, relying on informal phrasing like 'spice is change of life' rather than summarizing the main arguments effectively. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with more depth and logical reasoning.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'First and foremost', 'Nevertheless', and 'To recapitulate' are used to guide the reader. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is slightly disrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'These is a significant benefit'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the transition between ideas could be smoother. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate, and the progression of ideas is generally logical, though it lacks the sophisticated flow required for higher bands.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There is an attempt to use less common vocabulary, such as 'integral', 'calamities', and 'kith and kin'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and awkward collocations, such as 'road calamities is happen', 'innovating things', and 'spice is change of life'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of the argument. To improve, focus on using collocations more accurately and avoiding informal or non-standard idioms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'numbers of road accidents will be decreased those cause due to', 'These is a significant benefit') and article usage. Some sentences are clunky, such as 'In recent survey in the USA, has revealed that majority of road calamities is happen'. While the writer attempts complex structures, the control is inconsistent. To achieve a higher score, the writer needs to reduce the frequency of these basic errors and ensure that complex sentences are constructed with greater accuracy.
