Student answer (Band 6.5)

Over the years, all recruitment for driver will be replace and vehicles such as truck and buses will be automated. The passengers are only who touring through these vehicles. I believe this will happen in the future, and more advantages are available for automobiles. These advantages outweigh disadvantages will be discussed in the upcoming paragraphs.

First and foremost, Automated trucks and buses are improving more convenience by making low manpower. To elaborate, the vehicles driven by man having more costly to government as the government needs to hire more drivers. There were more funding and salaries required to paid to the person drives the vehicles. For example, the public transportation buses are running daily and there are so many routes available in the country that's why it is necessary to hire more person that will drive the buses at different routes.

Moreover, the chances to accident and other incident which will be harmful for mankind are higher in case of this driver driven buses and trucks. To understand, in the congested areas and highways this generally happens. For example, drivers sometimes drive car after taking heavy alcohol consumption. As a result, accidents happened and many travelers were injured.

Turning to disadvantages, I will argue that there are only few demerits if the modern invention will become automated. If there will be necessary to stopping a bus or truck in emergency condition but the command given to automobile will not allow them to stop and there may be chances to harmful incidence occurrence. Furthermore, automated vehicles will replace the jobs of many individuals makes difficult to earn money for those people.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both advantages and disadvantages, maintaining a clear position that the advantages outweigh the drawbacks. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'low manpower' is repetitive, and the explanation of the disadvantages is brief. While the main points are relevant, they lack depth and specific, well-integrated examples. The introduction is slightly confusing due to grammatical errors, which makes the initial position statement less impactful. To improve, you should aim to expand on your points with more detailed reasoning and ensure that your arguments are fully explored rather than just stated.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use basic cohesive devices like 'First and foremost', 'Moreover', and 'Turning to', which help guide the reader. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes hindered by awkward phrasing and mechanical transitions. For example, the sentence 'To understand, in the congested areas...' is not a standard way to introduce an explanation. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the use of 'this' without a clear antecedent. Improving the variety of your linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will help improve the overall flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. You rely on basic terms like 'manpower', 'harmful', and 'modern invention'. There are also some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'recruitment for driver will be replace' and 'harmful incidence occurrence'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated vocabulary or idiomatic expressions limits the score. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to technology and transportation, and work on using more precise verbs and adjectives to express your ideas more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Examples include 'The passengers are only who touring through these vehicles' and 'the chances to accident... are higher in case of this driver driven buses'. There are also issues with verb tense consistency and article usage. While the errors do not completely obscure the meaning, they are frequent enough to be distracting. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of prepositions and articles. Proofreading for common slips will also help increase your accuracy.
