Student answer (Band 6.5)
The growing influence of driverless cars, buses and trucks in modern society has sparked various debates. This issue is particularly significant because it affects both individuals and communities in multiple ways. In this essay, I will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of people travelling and their implications for society.
One of the key benefits of buses and trucks being driverless is that road accidents caused by human error can be reduced. It promotes innovation, creativity, and access to a wide range of opportunities. This is also evident from the fact that people travelling inside these vehicles can enjoy a stress-free journey because there is no human error. It helps improve understanding and problem-solving methods in society. As shown in various studies, trucks with high budgets have many benefits. The rent of a 400 km journey is about 50 thousand, which is very expensive. This has had a profound effect on strengthening social harmony and economic growth in many regions.
However, despite the benefits, trucks and buses can also lead to significant challenges. For example, differences in values and beliefs related to buses and trucks may create problems. Sometimes truck and bus accidents result in human deaths. As shown in various studies, at night the speed of cars, buses and trucks is very high, and road accidents are common. They may create communication barriers and integration issues among different groups.
In conclusion, I think trucks and vehicles moving at slower speeds provide both significant advantages and notable disadvantages, and their impact depends on how effectively they are managed in society.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing advantages and disadvantages, but the development of ideas is inconsistent and often lacks clarity. While you mention road safety as a benefit, the supporting points—such as 'innovation, creativity' and 'high budgets'—are vague and do not directly explain how driverless technology functions or why it is beneficial. The discussion on disadvantages is similarly underdeveloped, focusing on 'values and beliefs' and 'communication barriers,' which are not clearly linked to the topic of driverless vehicles. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-explained argument supported by specific, logical examples rather than general statements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas within paragraphs is often disjointed. For example, the transition from discussing human error to 'high budgets' and 'rent' is abrupt and lacks a logical connection. While you use some cohesive devices like 'However' and 'In conclusion,' the internal flow is frequently interrupted by sentences that do not clearly relate to the preceding point. Improving the logical links between sentences and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. You rely on repetitive phrasing, such as 'trucks and buses' and 'road accidents,' throughout the text. Some word choices are also slightly unnatural or imprecise, such as 'rent of a 400 km journey' or 'high budgets,' which do not accurately convey the intended meaning in this context. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to technology, automation, and transportation, and focus on using collocations more accurately to express your ideas with greater sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several instances where the grammar is awkward or incorrect, such as 'people travelling inside these vehicles can enjoy a stress-free journey because there is no human error.' The sentence structure is often repetitive, and there is a lack of variety in complex grammatical forms. While errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall fluency of the essay. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and refining the use of complex sentence structures will help improve your accuracy.
