Student answer (Band 6.5)
In some parts of the world, in the future all cars, buses and trucks will be able to operate using AI technology. The only individuals travelling inside these vehicles will be passengers. This trend has both advantages and disadvantages. Overall, I believe that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages and this essay will explain why.
There are several benefits of all cars, buses and trucks will be driverless in the future. The first advantage is that people will not spend extra money on travel in the future because the amount will be fixed. For example, some drivers are detrimental, because of this they want the most money. Moreover, sometimes they mistreat passengers and they drive drunk, which causes accidents Moreover, passengers always safe with AI technology and people always believe in technology. The passengers will do not go to wrong direction because AI will know all reads.
On the other hand, some many disadvantages to all vehicles becoming driverless. Firstly, driverless vehicles could replace human drivers. For instance, Millions of people, such as taxi drivers, bus drivers, and truck drivers, may lose their jobs. As a result, unemployment could increase, causing financial difficulties for many families. Additionally, driverless vehicles depend entirely on technology. For example, if the software malfunctions, sensors fail, or the system is hacked, accidents could occur. This may put passengers and other road users at risk.
In conclusion, I think the advantages of driverless vehicles outweigh the disadvantages. In the future, people will learn how to use technology and they will not have to face any kind of problem.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The essay addresses all parts of the prompt, providing a clear position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. The ideas are relevant, such as the economic benefits for passengers and the potential for job displacement. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'drivers are detrimental' is vague and lacks clear explanation. While the response covers both sides, the supporting points could be more thoroughly extended to reach a higher band. The conclusion is a bit simplistic, merely stating that people will learn to use technology without addressing the specific concerns raised in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'The first advantage', 'Moreover', 'On the other hand', and 'For instance'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. For example, the transition 'Moreover' is used twice in the same paragraph, and some sentences lack smooth logical flow, such as the jump from discussing driver behavior to passenger safety. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the second paragraph is slightly disjointed, which affects the overall flow of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the student to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at topic-specific vocabulary, such as 'AI technology', 'unemployment', and 'malfunctions'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of awkward phrasing or word choice, such as 'the amount will be fixed' instead of 'fares will be standardized' or 'some drivers are detrimental'. There are also minor errors in word formation and collocation, such as 'always safe' instead of 'always feel safe'. The vocabulary is sufficient to convey meaning but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'There are several benefits of all cars... will be driverless' (incorrect clause structure), 'The passengers will do not go to wrong direction' (incorrect auxiliary verb usage), and 'some many disadvantages' (incorrect quantifier usage). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some issues with sentence boundaries and clarity. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent the essay from reaching a higher band score.
