Student answer (Band 5.5)

Technology is developing very quickly an dmany people believe that driveless vehicles willl become common in the future .Although this change may create some problems,I belive that the advantages of driverless vehicles are greater than the disadvantages

On the one hand driverless vehicles have many benefits.first they can reduce road accidents because most accidents happens due to human mistakes such as speeding using moblie phone or driving while tired self drivinng vehiclles follow rules more carefully.Secondly passengers can use thir travel time for other activies such asreadinng ,working or relaxing This can make traveling more confortable and productive. The big benifit of driverless vehicles is that it help elder and disable people to travel more easliy without depending on others

some of the disadvantages is that many of the taxi ,truck and bus drivers may lose theirs jobs. This coulld increase unemployment.one of the major negitive impact is driverless car depens on the technology if their is any failer in computer and some other technical error it may cause the serious accident. Some people also feel nervous about traveling in a vehicle without human driver.

In the end although driverless vehicles may cause job losses and some technical issues ,I belived their benifits are more important. They can improves the road safety and make tranport more easier for many of the people. Therefore I think advantages of driverless vehicles can clearly overcome the disadvantages of it becasue in my sight it is very useful feature in the future beacuse in the future most of the thing are done by the help of techonologies

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The essay addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of driverless vehicles and clearly states a position. The ideas are relevant, such as road safety and unemployment, but they are somewhat under-developed. For instance, the point about elderly and disabled people is a strong argument but is not fully expanded upon with a specific example. The conclusion reiterates the position, but the final sentence is a bit repetitive and vague. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more detailed explanations or concrete examples for each of your main points to ensure the argument is fully extended.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices like 'On the one hand', 'first', 'secondly', and 'In the end' to signal transitions. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by mechanical errors and a lack of more sophisticated linking words. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between ideas within paragraphs could be smoother. To improve, try using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that links back to your main argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, but it is somewhat limited and repetitive. There are frequent spelling errors, such as 'driveless', 'moblie', 'thir', 'benifit', and 'tranport', which occasionally distract the reader. While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'unemployment' and 'technical error', the range is not broad enough to demonstrate flexibility. To improve, focus on learning more precise synonyms and collocations related to technology and transportation, and pay closer attention to your spelling during the proofreading stage.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include missing articles (e.g., 'the' before 'elder'), subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'accidents happens'), and punctuation errors, such as missing spaces after commas and periods. These errors are noticeable and sometimes impede the flow of reading, although the meaning remains clear. To achieve a higher score, you need to focus on basic sentence construction, punctuation rules, and ensuring consistent subject-verb agreement. Practicing complex structures while maintaining accuracy will also be beneficial.
