Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both advantages and disadvantages, and a clear position is maintained throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention economic benefits and safety concerns, the arguments lack depth and rely on unsupported claims, such as the assertion that Paris has banned driverless vehicles due to accidents. To reach a higher band, you should provide more logical, well-reasoned explanations rather than anecdotal or potentially inaccurate examples. The conclusion restates your position, but the overall development remains basic, which limits the score for this criterion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'Although, that helps company...' and 'Therefore I believe...' are used incorrectly at the start of sentences. The transition between ideas is sometimes abrupt, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the use of 'there' instead of 'their'. While there is an attempt to use linking words, they are not always used with the flexibility or precision required for a higher band. Improving the logical flow between sentences would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision needed for a higher score. There are frequent spelling errors, such as 'vehlices' instead of 'vehicles', 'pasengers' instead of 'passengers', and 'un employenment' instead of 'unemployment'. Additionally, word choice is often imprecise, such as 'reach on the peak' or 'maintain there drivers'. You rely on a limited set of vocabulary, and the errors in spelling and collocation occasionally make the text difficult to read. To improve, focus on learning the correct spelling of common academic terms and practicing collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('companies who is investing', 'data describes that... are implements'), incorrect verb tenses, and misuse of articles. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas after introductory words like 'Although' and 'For instance'. These errors are frequent and sometimes impede the flow of communication. To improve, you should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensuring that your subjects and verbs agree before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
