Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both advantages and disadvantages, and a clear position is maintained throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention benefits like safety and business efficiency, and drawbacks like trust and maintenance costs, the arguments lack depth and specific supporting evidence. For instance, the example regarding Nigeria is relevant but brief. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations or hypothetical scenarios to fully explore the implications of the technology. The conclusion clearly states your position, which helps in meeting the requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion' to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. Additionally, there are instances where the flow between sentences is slightly disjointed, such as the sudden transition to 'Faulty:' in the third paragraph. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the logical progression of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'automated drives' and 'self-operated'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'beneficiary to the society' instead of 'beneficial to society' and 'in anyway they are'. The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, and there is a reliance on basic descriptors. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and academic vocabulary to express your ideas with greater sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'truck will be', 'drivers drives'), missing articles, and punctuation errors (e.g., 'cars, buses'). There are also several instances of repetition, such as 'it will be it will be' and 'all all'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. Increasing your control over basic grammar and proofreading for small slips would help improve your score.
