Student answer (Band 6.0)
With the rapid technological development, it is predicted that all vehicles such as buses and cars will provide automated services to the people without providing direct interaction with a human driver. The trend would have various advantages including time management, quick travelling service, and to follow traffic rules. However, it also have negative points for passengers who would not be able to interact with driver for the sake of information and customized pick and drop services.
Driverless vehicles would have beneficial points for general public as well as authorities. Firstly, it would follow time strictly and provide quick travelling services to the general public compared with a human driver who may find it difficult to follow time accurately due to his laziness. Secondly, the expertise and accuracy of automated vehicles will reduce the number of road accidents where a human can make mistake due to lack of experience. Finally, these vehicles attached with robotic system would follow traffic rules strictly and wait for its turn instead of a driver who may break rules in hurry.
However, automated vehicles would also have some disadvantages impacts for passengers. A fixed automated system would not allow people to directly interact with it when they would want to ask for information or help. Many people nowadays interact with drivers due to lack of information about their routes and charges they have to spend which would be impossible in case of driverless buses. In addition, human drivers sometimes provide customized services to people if they want pick and drop services out of the specified routes. However, automated vehicles would follow time strictly and would not provide any customization.
In conclusion, driverless vehicles would have numerous pros and cons. Its benefits includes time management, quick services, and follow rules. Its negative points include interaction and customisation problems.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both advantages and disadvantages of driverless vehicles. You clearly state your position, although the conclusion is somewhat brief and repetitive. The ideas are relevant, such as time management and safety, but they could be developed further with more specific examples or deeper analysis. For instance, when discussing the lack of human interaction, you could have explored the impact on elderly or disabled passengers. To reach a higher band, ensure that each body paragraph provides a more thorough exploration of the implications of your points rather than just listing them.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. You use cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'Finally', and 'However' to guide the reader through your arguments. While the progression is generally clear, some transitions feel a bit mechanical. The referencing is mostly accurate, though the concluding paragraph is quite abrupt and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented in the body paragraphs. Improving the flow between sentences and ensuring the conclusion provides a more comprehensive summary would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'technological development', 'automated services', and 'customized'. However, there are some instances of imprecise word choice, such as 'disadvantages impacts' (which is redundant) and 'quick travelling service'. Some phrasing is also slightly unnatural, such as 'for the sake of information'. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing. Expanding your vocabulary to include more sophisticated synonyms for common words will help you move into the higher band range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'it also have negative points' (subject-verb agreement) and 'where a human can make mistake' (missing article). Additionally, there are minor punctuation and phrasing issues throughout. You have attempted complex structures, but they are not always error-free. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Increasing the variety of complex sentence forms while maintaining accuracy will help raise your score in this criterion.
