Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this day and age, technology has become an integral part of modern society. Although it is assumed that in the upcomming years all the 4 wheelers vehicles will be driven by the AI rather than the human being and there will be only passenger travelling inside the vehicles. However, I believe that its disadventages are overlapping it advantages.

To embark upon, nowadays in modern era, it is clearly vivid that AI is replacing the jobs of human beings. Therefore, the first negative point of this trend is that is will lead to increase the unemployment rate. In other words, if the cars will be driven by th the AI mostly driver that are totally dependent on the driving as their income source will face few challenges to fulfill their basic needs. For instance, America is have a big transport companies and mostly people are doing their job as a truck driver as a result, if AI will replace their job they will become jobless and may face finicial issues.

Secondly, individuals may not trust or feel safe while travelling in the driverless vehicles because, AI tools are operated by the internet. However, during the weak signals it may not work properly as consequences, it may be very harmfull for the passangers. For example, recently a test have been done on automatic tesla car in the London where the car was asked for the immidiate breaks by putting a fake body of men in the front of car. However, the result was shocking that car was unable to take breaks at time and hits the men.

To conclude, after analyzing the above points. I belive that it will be a negative development because, it not only leads to unemployment but may also harm the passangers.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that the disadvantages outweigh the advantages. The ideas regarding unemployment and safety concerns are relevant and logically linked to the topic. However, the development is somewhat limited; the arguments could be more thoroughly explored with more nuanced analysis. For instance, the example regarding the Tesla test is a bit anecdotal and lacks specific context. To reach a higher band, ensure that the discussion of the 'advantages' is also acknowledged or addressed more explicitly to provide a balanced view before refuting them, as the prompt asks to weigh the two sides.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. There is a logical progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'To embark upon' (which is not a standard introductory phrase) and 'as consequences'. Referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be smoother. The transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs needs more natural linking to improve the overall cohesion of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are several spelling errors, such as 'upcomming', 'disadventages', 'finicial', 'harmfull', and 'immidiate'. Additionally, some word choices are imprecise, such as '4 wheelers vehicles' instead of 'four-wheeled vehicles' or 'autonomous vehicles'. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'unemployment rate' and 'driverless vehicles', the frequent spelling mistakes and limited range of sophisticated vocabulary constrain the score. Focusing on accurate spelling and using more academic collocations would significantly improve this area.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Examples include 'America is have a big transport companies', 'mostly driver that are totally dependent', and 'a test have been done'. There are also issues with article usage and subject-verb agreement. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic sentence construction prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. More attention should be paid to verb tenses and pluralisation to ensure greater accuracy.
