Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this era of Ai and technology, the future of all cars, buses and trucks will be without drivers as these vehicles will run without automated drivers that are robots and Ai generated vehicles. All vehicles will be run by Robots and the people who are going to travel will be the only passengers in the vehicle. These have more disadvantages over advantages that are going to discuss below.

This modern age is called the age of artificial intelligence and people are totally relying on them. In many countries , there are some driverless vehicles in the world . Where people book a ride and then add location in the phone and all the travel history is online. When a person fulfills all the requirement then the ride begins. This is the first example of Dubai. As there is police’s Ai cars that detects crime and the vehicles on different apps are driverless. It has advantages that people can travel safe without any case of harassment and the drivers don’t bother them any harm. They can travel in privacy.

On the other hand, driverless vehicles affect the economy of the country. Poor people will be jobless and there will be massive destruction for the people who left their home for earning but can’t do anything because their jobs are taken by artificial intelligence. So this is not suitable for people from lower backgrounds.

I think disadvantages are excessive over advantages, because people are more jobless these days and they have to do jobs to earn bread and to fulfill their family needs.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both advantages and disadvantages, though the development is somewhat limited. You clearly state your position that the disadvantages outweigh the advantages. However, the arguments lack depth; for instance, the point about job losses is relevant but could be expanded with more specific examples or economic reasoning. The example regarding Dubai is a bit confusing, as it conflates police AI cars with general driverless transport. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph provides a well-supported argument rather than just listing points. The conclusion is brief and repeats the main point without synthesizing the arguments effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally repetitive. For example, the transition 'On the other hand' is used correctly, but other links between sentences are weak. Some sentences feel disjointed, such as the transition from the introduction to the body paragraphs. To improve, use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that flows logically into the supporting details. Referencing is sometimes unclear, making the progression of ideas feel slightly abrupt.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. You use terms like 'Ai' and 'robots' repeatedly, which limits the range. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'massive destruction for the people' and 'don’t bother them any harm'. While the meaning is clear, the word choice is often simplistic. To improve, try to incorporate more academic vocabulary related to technology and socio-economic impacts, and focus on using words in their correct context to avoid unnatural phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'these vehicles will run without automated drivers that are robots and Ai generated vehicles') and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'people are more jobless these days'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and varying your sentence structures to include more complex, error-free clauses.
