Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the advanced technological era, people are replaced by the AI in almost all the industry. In the upcoming future, vehicles like cars, buses and trucks will be driven by the AI and there will be no need of driver to drive the vehicles. But in my belief, brighter side of the future does not outweigh the darker side of the future.

Future of driverless vehicles is more dangerous than its advantageous. The reason behind it, in most of the cases, travel distance, routes are fixed while travelling, but the passengers inside the vehicles are human, which may not require the constant travelling. For long distance travelling, passenger needs hold at some station in between. Some time any medical emergency may arrive and need to stop the vehicle. Some time due to traffic, routes need to be change. Does AI will be capable to provide the solution of these problems? this is a big question on AI. There are some advantages of having driverless vehicles as well. For instance, drivers who brakes the traffic rules, can overcome by AI. Drivers may get sleep while driving and chances of accident increased, but it can overcome by the AI. AI starts replacing the human, and in future it can replace the driver as well, But for replacing the driver mind, AI needs to be more sharpen than current stage. Different programmes need to be set in AI software to overcome the issues.

One more disadvantage of driverless vehicle is that, it AI will replace the job of the drivers. For example, In transport company. drivers are get paid for driving and transporting the stuff from one place to another. If AI implement instead of the drivers, unemployment rate can be increased and it can indirectly affect the economy of the country as well. On the brighter side, If the AI replace the jobs of some industry, it will also create the new job opportunities.

In conclusion, future of AI is bright, only if people know how to use it.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both advantages and disadvantages, maintaining a clear position that the disadvantages outweigh the benefits. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding medical emergencies and route changes is raised as a question rather than a fully explored point. The discussion on unemployment is relevant but remains superficial. To reach a higher band, you should provide more concrete examples or deeper analysis of how AI would specifically handle the scenarios mentioned, rather than simply listing potential issues. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not effectively summarize the main points presented in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive. Phrases like 'On the brighter side' and 'For example' are used, but the transition between sentences is sometimes abrupt, particularly in the second paragraph. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'If AI implement instead of the drivers', where the subject-verb agreement and logical flow are slightly disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall flow and logical progression of your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'technological era', 'unemployment rate', and 'indirectly affect'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'brighter side of the future does not outweigh the darker side', 'drivers who brakes the traffic rules', and 'AI needs to be more sharpen'. These errors occasionally distract the reader, though they do not prevent understanding. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that word forms (e.g., 'sharpen' vs 'sharp') are used correctly in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('drivers are get paid', 'AI implement'), article usage ('the AI', 'the transport company'), and sentence fragments or awkward phrasing ('Does AI will be capable...'). While these errors do not impede communication, they are persistent enough to limit the score. To improve, pay closer attention to basic sentence construction and proofread for common errors like missing auxiliary verbs or incorrect verb forms after modal verbs.
