Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the future all cars, buses and trucks will be driver-less to an extant i believe and the only people travelling inside these vehicles will be passengers.
I believe that the advantages of driver-less vehicles outweigh the disadvantages. Firstly a machine takes one third less time to make a decision compare to human mind, this fast decision making ability will help us in road incidents where we need to make decision quickly, every day we listen the news that due to the misconduct of driver an accident took place.
Another advantage of driver-less vehicles is the public safety in taxi service, especially for women travelling alone or children of a young age, we daily hear bad news on that many women are harassed in taxi especially when travelling at night.
In public transport which are under government sector, driver-less busses will save government in buss drivers salary, another greater advantage for these driver-less busses would be the theft of time, some drivers who are not honest to their work tend to drive slow or take longer routes to deliver their service hence government had to pay more and hire more drivers, also human can only work for a limited time of the day, but these driver-less busses can run smoothly all day long.
In construction sites driver-less trucks are very beneficial for the purpose of safety at such risky sites where there is a constant danger of accident these driver-less trucks will be helpful for not endangering human life.
The final most advantage of driver-less vehicles is that mankind could be used in other better jobs of the world such as arts and these unnecessary threat-full jobs should be automated.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by arguing that the advantages of driverless vehicles outweigh the disadvantages. You provide several relevant points, such as improved safety, cost-efficiency in public transport, and the reduction of human error. However, the development is somewhat uneven. While you list many advantages, the 'disadvantages' side of the argument is almost entirely ignored, which limits the depth of your analysis. To achieve a higher band, you should acknowledge potential drawbacks (such as job losses or technical failures) and then explain why the advantages are more significant. The structure is clear, but the content remains a list of points rather than a balanced discussion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive. For example, you rely heavily on 'another' and 'also' to link ideas. There are also issues with sentence-level cohesion; some sentences are run-on, such as the one beginning 'In public transport which are under government sector...', where the lack of punctuation makes the logical flow difficult to follow. Improving the use of transition signals and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'automated' and 'public transport'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'theft of time' (which is not a standard idiom in this context) and 'unnecessary threat-full jobs'. Additionally, there are minor spelling errors like 'busses' (buses) and 'extant' (extent). To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring that your word choices are natural and appropriate for an academic context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'human can only work'), missing articles, and punctuation errors, particularly the lack of full stops between independent clauses. For instance, the sentence 'every day we listen the news that due to the misconduct of driver an accident took place' is grammatically fragmented. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic sentence boundaries and article usage.
