Student answer (Band 5.5)
Task-2
It is aargued that the passengers will be the only people travelling inside driverless cars, buses and trucks in the future. While this development may have certain drawbacks, I believe that the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages.
One of the greatest benifites of driverless vehicles is the remarkable improvement in road safety. Humein-error, reckless driving, speeding and driving under the influence of weeds and alcohol are the the majority of problem that leads to roads accidents all over the world. Automated vehicles cannot get drunk and are equiped with advanc sensors to reduce collision. For instance, Tesla electronic cars are equiped with advance sensors which can be detect anything around its 100meters radius and has a camara which detects incomming and outgoing vehicles. It is pretty much a fact that the collision rate of automated Tesla cars is less then human driven cars.
However, The widespread adoption of driverless vehicles may leads to unemployment among professional drivers, including taxi, bus and truck drivers. Many people's livelihood depends on the income of their driving and their family is also dependent on their profession. For instance artists nowadays are in panic due to widespread AI in their fields and many artists are lossing jobs left and right risking their future. Nevertheless thes challenges can be addressed through retraining programes and continuous technological improvem-ents
In conclusion, although driverless vehicles may create challenges like unemployment. I believe their ability to improve road safety will far outweigh the disadvantage that came along with it

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of driverless vehicles and clearly states a position. The ideas are relevant, particularly the focus on road safety and unemployment. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. The argument regarding road safety is supported by an example of Tesla, but the discussion on unemployment is less detailed and relies on a comparison with artists, which is only tangentially relevant. To reach a higher band, the response needs to extend the arguments with more depth and provide more specific, logical evidence for the economic impact of automation.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central topic. Cohesive devices such as 'However', 'For instance', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader through the argument. While the progression of ideas is generally logical, some transitions feel slightly mechanical. Additionally, there are minor issues with referencing and sentence-level flow, such as the abrupt transition between the discussion of drivers and the comparison to artists. Overall, the structure is sufficient to follow the writer's argument without difficulty.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific terminology like 'automated vehicles' and 'collision rate'. However, there are several spelling errors ('benifites', 'equiped', 'advanc', 'camara', 'incomming', 'lossing', 'thes', 'programes') and some awkward phrasing ('weeds and alcohol', 'leads to unemployment'). These errors are noticeable and occasionally detract from the professional tone of the essay, though they do not impede overall communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'may leads to', 'less then', and 'disadvantage that came along with it'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and capitalization after full stops. Despite these errors, the meaning remains clear throughout the response. To improve, the writer should focus on subject-verb agreement and ensuring consistent verb tense usage.
