Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argued that in future there will be driverless cars and buses in all over the world. The will be only passengers travel inside a bus in future. I believe that its drawbacks are more than benefits.
To begin with, there are several cons of driverless vehicle in upcoming days. Firstly, it will create unemployment in society because many people income is totally depends on their driving job, they drive public transport and fulfil their basics needs. It will also become difficult for government to provide jobs to unemployed drivers. Secondly, this is relatively new technology and people have trust issue with this new invention and they will no commute in such a new transport system. Finally, it cannot secure individuals in difficult situations like accidents and others vehicle related problems and travelers will not travel in unsafe transport system.
There are also some advantages of this technology. It will save money for government because they no longer have give salary to workers of buses and cars in future and this they can use for other innovation to improve their technology and make it more reliable in upcoming days. Driverless cars will be more punctual and frequent because as driver they do not need any rest in a working day, it can work all the day and night so it will become easy to travel in night.
In conclusion, although there are some disadvantages but i believe that its benefits are more than its cons and it will become more trustworthy in coming years.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both advantages and disadvantages, though the development is somewhat superficial. You state in the introduction that drawbacks outweigh benefits, but in the conclusion, you contradict this by saying benefits are more significant. This inconsistency weakens your position. While you provide relevant points such as unemployment and cost-saving, the ideas are not fully extended with specific examples or deep analysis. To improve, ensure your position remains consistent throughout the essay and provide more detailed explanations for each point raised to meet the requirements for a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use basic cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'Firstly', and 'In conclusion' to signal transitions. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the logical progression is hindered by the contradictory stance taken between the introduction and the conclusion. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the transition between the disadvantages and advantages could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that your arguments build logically toward a single, unified conclusion would enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your ideas clearly. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there is a reliance on basic phrasing. You use some repetitive language, such as 'in future' and 'in upcoming days'. There are also minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'people have trust issue' (should be 'trust issues') and 'no commute' (should be 'not commute'). To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise, topic-specific vocabulary and avoid repetitive sentence starters.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('many people income is totally depends') and article usage ('in all over the world'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While your meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring correct tense usage will significantly improve your accuracy.
