Student answer (Band 6.0)

In the Technology world, everything is changing rapidly. Every day new upgradation is coming in automobile sectors. A few years back there were no hybrid car, but most people have one. The essay is all about future automobile industry. In the upcoming years the road transport will be driverless. The passengers will be lest inside the vehicle. In my point of view, it has more merits as compared to demerits. In the upcoming paragraphs, I will discuss about everything.

Firstly, let's talk about the advantages of driverless vehicle. my first point is the accident chances will be reduced which happened because of sleepy eyes or fatigue. To explain it, if someone driving for around more than 6 hours and everyone needs a break, but sometime the scheduled is too tight one has to deliver the products on time he cannot take break. The accident chance increase. so driverless vehicles do not need any break. it does not feel sleepy. In results the vehicle will not crash. Apart from that Employers can save money by not hiring the drivers. For example, few days back I read an article, it was all about futuristic things. In China, government gives to permission to use driverless cab. I watch a video as well on it. It looks so amazing.

Moreover, the work will be done on time without many efforts. To illustrate it, driverless can travel without break, without having anything from one place to another. Thus, there is no chance of delaying. In contrast to it, the individuals who are working as a driver will lose their jobs. There are many people who only do driving and driving is their full-time job.

In conclusion, the advantages are outweighed like less accidents, more precisely work on the other hand some people will lose their jobs, and it might be difficult for them to survive.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both advantages and disadvantages, and a clear position is maintained throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the argument regarding accident reduction is repetitive, focusing on 'sleepy eyes' and 'breaks' without exploring broader technological or systemic benefits. The disadvantage section is also brief, mentioning job losses but failing to elaborate on the socio-economic impact. While the task is addressed, the ideas lack the depth and extension required for a higher band, as the supporting points remain somewhat anecdotal and simplistic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'To explain it' and 'To illustrate it'. There are also issues with referencing; for instance, in the first paragraph, the phrase 'The passengers will be lest inside the vehicle' is unclear and disrupts the flow. Transitions between sentences are sometimes abrupt, and the overall progression of ideas could be smoother to better guide the reader through the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range expected at higher levels. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'new upgradation is coming' (should be 'upgrades are being introduced') and 'lest' instead of 'left'. The student relies on basic vocabulary, and there is little attempt to use less common or idiomatic language. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and occasional errors in word formation limit the score in this criterion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include 'there were no hybrid car' (should be 'cars'), 'if someone driving' (should be 'if someone is driving'), and 'the scheduled is too tight' (should be 'the schedule'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing commas and capitalization errors. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to demonstrate a lack of control over complex grammatical structures, keeping the score in the mid-range.
