Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both advantages and disadvantages. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention benefits like accessibility for the elderly and safety, the explanation is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. The discussion on economic drawbacks is relevant but remains superficial. To improve, you should provide more specific, well-supported arguments rather than listing points. The position is clear, but the overall development is inconsistent, which prevents a higher score. Ensure that each paragraph fully explores the implications of your points to better meet the requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'In contemporary era' and 'On the contrary there also some'. Some transitions feel forced, and the logical progression between sentences is occasionally disrupted by grammatical errors. Referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult to track the flow of ideas. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words more naturally and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a smoother, more cohesive argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms and repeat words like 'people', 'drive', and 'cars' frequently. There are also some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'mitigate the changes of accidents' (likely meaning 'reduce the chances') and 'many economic runs on automobile'. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to technology and economics, and work on using synonyms to avoid repetition. Precision in word choice is essential for conveying complex ideas effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('many economic runs on automobile'), missing articles, and incorrect verb tenses ('if they will not drive car... it is very beneficial'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar limits the score. Focus on mastering subject-verb agreement, consistent tense usage, and proper sentence construction to improve your accuracy.
