Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is a highly fascinating statement that there will be driverless cars in the future and people sitting in the car will be passengers. In my opinion, there will be more advantages of driverless cars than disadvantages.
The biggest advantage is the convenience, many people will benefit from such cars as they don't have to worry about driving themselves to their workplace, colleges or schools. People who cannot drive will benefit the most from this technology. If humans are not driving the cars, then there will be less fights on the roads because many people suffer from road rage while driving. And possibly there will be lesser car accidents.
Driverless trucks will be helpful to move products easily and fast without any hassle. There will be smoother deliveries of products. But on the other hand it will be a disadvantage for truck drivers or people who make money from this job as they can lose their jobs as a result. But nonetheless driverless cars and trucks have several benefits.
People with busy schedules and hectic work routines can sit comfortably in the cars do their work on their laptops while sitting in the cars while the car drives itself to the destination. Families travelling together can have fun while travelling without having someone to drive the car.People would need to spend money to hire a diver for their cars.
To conclude, Driverless cars have many advantages but on the other hand it can cause some disadvantages as well to the people or drivers who earn through this job. But i wilk stick to my stance that driverless cars have more advantages than disadvantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. You have identified both advantages (convenience, safety, efficiency) and disadvantages (job loss). However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the point about 'road rage' and 'accidents' is mentioned but not fully explored with specific examples or logical depth. Similarly, the disadvantage regarding job loss is touched upon but lacks a broader discussion on the economic impact. To reach a higher band, ensure that each main idea is supported by a more detailed explanation or a concrete example to demonstrate a deeper understanding of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive. For example, you frequently start sentences with 'And' or 'But', which limits the flow of your writing. The transition between the advantages and disadvantages could be smoother; the paragraphing is a bit disjointed, particularly in the third paragraph where you jump between ideas. Using a wider variety of linking words such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'nevertheless' would help to improve the logical progression of your arguments.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'driverless cars', 'road rage', and 'hectic work routines'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there is a tendency to repeat words like 'cars' and 'people'. There are also minor errors in word choice, such as 'hire a diver' (likely meant 'driver'). To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms and collocations to demonstrate a broader range of vocabulary, which will help you move toward a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as punctuation issues (missing spaces after periods) and run-on sentences like '...do their work on their laptops while sitting in the cars while the car drives itself...'. Additionally, there are minor slips like 'i wilk' (typo) and 'lesser car accidents' (should be 'fewer'). To improve, focus on sentence boundary control and proofreading for small errors. Increasing the variety of complex structures, such as using conditional clauses or passive voice, would also enhance your score.
