Student answer (Band 5.5)
Without any iota of doubt, technology has been increasing day by day and most of the individuals relie on it very much. In few decades all vehicles will is autonomous, individuals going in these vehicles will be travellers. Although this technology has some advantages, I believe that its disadvantages outweigh advantages.
Apparently, there are few merits of autonomous, but the major one is that, it improves road safety. To explain it more, human drivers sometimes drive vehicle carelessly and don't follow rules and regulations, which outcome is road accidents. However, robot vehicles drive vehicles slowly and take care of maintenance of vehicle and also follow rules.
On the other hand, there are a lot of demerits of this, but the major one is that, it decline the number of employment.
To justify it more, many residents do jobs like taxi driver, bus driver and many other driving jobs for their survival, but if driverless vehicles take place, the need of drivers will be cut down. Which means incline in count of unemployment.
To add on, the second more important demerit of this is, high purchase and maintenance cost of these vehicles. To explain it more, these types of cars have AI system for proper functioning, and it is also crucial for take care of these vehicles because it is risky to sit in a faulty car or bus.
In conclusion, disadvantages of driverless vehicles outweigh advantages because it promote unemployment and its maintenance cost is quite high.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The essay addresses the prompt by discussing both advantages and disadvantages, maintaining a clear position that the drawbacks outweigh the benefits. However, the response is under the 250-word minimum, which negatively impacts the development of ideas. While the main points regarding road safety, unemployment, and costs are relevant, they are somewhat underdeveloped. The lack of sufficient length prevents a more thorough exploration of the arguments, leading to a superficial treatment of the topic. To improve, you should expand on your supporting examples and ensure you meet the minimum word count requirement to allow for full development of your position.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'On the other hand' and 'In conclusion' to signal shifts in the argument. However, the flow is sometimes mechanical, and the transition between sentences can feel repetitive. For example, the phrase 'To explain it more' is used twice in a similar way, which limits the variety of your linking words. Improving the range of cohesive devices and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would help elevate the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'good' or 'bad' (implied) and repeat words such as 'vehicles' and 'demerits' frequently. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'incline in count of unemployment' instead of 'increase in unemployment'. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to technology and economics, and focus on using words in their correct collocations to convey your ideas more naturally and precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'all vehicles will is autonomous' (incorrect verb form), 'which outcome is road accidents' (awkward phrasing), and 'it decline the number' (subject-verb agreement). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are issues with sentence construction. To reach a higher band, you need to demonstrate better control over complex sentence structures and ensure that basic grammatical rules, such as subject-verb agreement and tense consistency, are applied accurately throughout your writing.
