Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both advantages and disadvantages. However, the position is not clearly stated in the introduction; you mention you will discuss both views but do not explicitly state whether you believe the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. The conclusion is incomplete, which prevents a clear final position from being established. While the ideas regarding safety and job loss are relevant, they are somewhat underdeveloped. To improve, ensure you provide a clear thesis statement in the introduction and fully complete your concluding paragraph to summarize your stance.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'To commence with firstly' and 'To justify it'. Some sentences are disjointed, and the transition between ideas is sometimes abrupt. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the lack of a finished conclusion significantly impacts the overall flow and logical progression of the argument. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words will help create a smoother, more professional flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'people will tied' (likely meaning 'tired') and 'people who live there life' (should be 'their'). You rely on basic vocabulary, and there is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic expressions. To improve, focus on learning collocations and ensuring that words are used in their correct grammatical form.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('some people believes'), tense inconsistencies ('will travelling'), and sentence fragments. While you attempt to use complex structures, they are often faulty, which can occasionally impede the reader's understanding. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring that subjects and verbs agree and that tenses are used consistently throughout the essay.
