Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, clearly stating a position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. The ideas are relevant, covering safety, productivity, and mobility for the benefits, and cost, job loss, and technical risks for the drawbacks. However, the development is somewhat superficial; for instance, the point about 'job loss' is mentioned but could be expanded with more specific societal implications. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and slightly disconnected from the main body. Overall, the response is well-structured and fulfills the requirements of the task effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs. Each paragraph has a central theme, and the progression of ideas is generally easy to follow. Cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Furthermore', and 'Nevertheless' are used to link ideas. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as the phrase 'in forthcoming fragments', which is not standard academic usage. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and the overall flow is sufficient to guide the reader through the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to express ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'autonomous vehicles' and 'mobility landscape'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'forthcoming fragments' instead of 'subsequent paragraphs' and 'do another activities' instead of 'perform other activities'. Some collocations are also slightly unnatural, such as 'high advancement technology'. While the range is sufficient, more precision is needed to reach a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('advancement in technology play') and pluralization ('it helps to fewer accidents'). Additionally, there are issues with verb forms ('they follows', 'people loss jobs') and punctuation, such as missing commas in complex sentences. While these errors do not impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. To improve, the student should focus on basic grammatical accuracy and proofreading for subject-verb agreement.
