Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the future, it is predicted that all the vehicles such as cars, buses, trucks and so on as people will not be needed to drive their cars manually. Inn this regard, there are few disadvantages of the notion but I believe that the forth stated advantages will completely outlook the demerits.
On the one hand, road fatalities along with occurrence of traffic will reduce significantly as software of the automated cars will be linked and coordinated with each other to prevent these types of uncertainties on the road. Also, people will have more time to do productive tasks because time spent by them driving cars will now be available of them so they can utilize it for other important tasks. Moreover, the older population will have a chance to travel in vehicles as now this population does not know how to drive these vehicles and they will be encouraged to travel to destinations that they desire.
In addition, human errors such as distractions, drunk driving, panic in situations will be completely eliminated by the automated driver-less cars. As a result people will become only passengers and will not have to worry about the uncertainties that could arise.
On the other hand, there are few considerations to be made about the notion. As cars will be operated through computerized or artificial intelligence systems, hackers could be a major threat for people as they could illegally get the controls of the vehicles to perform dangerous tasks such as stealing or accidents. Also, regular updates for the software would be required in order to ensure safety which would be expensive for the companies as they will need to provide after-sale services. Jobs of people working as taxi or bus drivers will be greatly affected by these automated cars and will damage their livelihood.
To conclude, although there are few considerable disadvantages of the notion such as cyber security issues, after-sale services and other yet the great advantages such as time saving, reduction in road fatalities completely outlook the aforementioned demerits of the given notion.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all parts of the prompt, clearly stating your position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Your ideas are relevant and logically developed, particularly regarding road safety and the benefits for the elderly. However, the development of the disadvantages could be slightly more nuanced. For instance, while you mention job losses, you could briefly explain the societal impact of this to further strengthen your argument. Overall, your position is consistent throughout the essay, and the main ideas are well-supported with clear examples, meeting the requirements for a solid band 7 performance.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear progression of ideas. You use paragraphing effectively to separate the advantages and disadvantages. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'Moreover', and 'In addition' are used to guide the reader through your arguments. However, there are some minor issues with mechanical cohesion; for example, the phrase 'forth stated advantages' is slightly awkward and impacts the flow. Additionally, some transitions between sentences could be smoother to avoid a repetitive structure. Despite these minor points, the overall structure is clear and easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'road fatalities', 'automated', and 'cyber security'. You attempt to use less common vocabulary, though some word choices are slightly inaccurate or unnatural, such as 'outlook the demerits' (instead of 'outweigh') and 'forth stated' (instead of 'aforementioned'). There are also some minor spelling and typographical errors, such as 'Inn' and 'driver-less'. While these do not impede communication, they prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on precise collocations will help improve your score in this area.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures throughout the response. While many sentences are clear, there are several grammatical slips, such as 'time spent by them driving cars will now be available of them' (should be 'available to them') and 'there are few considerations' (should be 'a few'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are occasional errors in sentence construction. You have good control over basic structures, but more variety in complex sentence forms and greater attention to prepositional usage would enhance your accuracy and range.
