Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention benefits like productivity and safety, the explanation of the disadvantages is underdeveloped. For instance, the point about 'older people' is vague and lacks a logical connection to why this is a specific disadvantage of driverless technology. To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed examples and ensure that both sides of the argument are explored with equal depth. The conclusion is present but could be more reflective of the arguments presented in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Furthermore', and 'However'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'In this regards' or 'due to which vehicles will be driverless'. Additionally, some sentences lack smooth transitions, making the flow feel a bit disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used in the correct context would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for a higher band. You rely on simple, repetitive phrasing such as 'merits', 'demerits', and 'advantages'. There are also some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'go faster from humans' and 'cannot trust on automatic vehicles'. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to technology and transportation, and focus on using words in their correct collocations to convey your ideas more precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include 'lives of human being' (should be 'human beings'), 'older people is a disadvantage' (subject-verb agreement error), and 'cannot trust on' (incorrect preposition). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the clarity of your writing. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct preposition usage will help improve your accuracy.
