Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both advantages and disadvantages. However, the development of ideas is limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'inequality' and 'dependency' is mentioned but not explained or supported with specific examples. The conclusion is somewhat contradictory, as it acknowledges the benefits of technology but then focuses on job losses without clearly weighing the two sides to reach a definitive position. To improve, you should ensure each main point is supported by a clear explanation or a concrete example to demonstrate a deeper level of critical thinking.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the phrase 'To being with it' is grammatically incorrect and awkward. Additionally, the transition between the body paragraphs and the conclusion is abrupt. While there is an attempt to use linking words like 'Firstly' and 'Moreover', the logical flow between sentences is sometimes disrupted by grammatical errors, making the progression of ideas feel disjointed at times.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. You rely on basic terms such as 'good', 'bad', and 'things'. There are also instances of word-choice errors, such as 'other claim' instead of 'others claim' and 'avoided accident' instead of 'avoiding accidents'. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to transportation and technology, and focus on using collocations more accurately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'there are several reasons why the vehicles without drivers' (missing a verb) and 'both rules are good effect on their individual life' (incorrect phrasing). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization and comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevents a higher score.
