Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this modern time, everyday pollution has significantly increased from cars. And some people are bored when they driving. So people create driverless electric vehicle in the future. The i think the advantages of driverless vehicles outweigh the disadvantages and giving for the reason of that in the following paragraph.
On the one hand, driverless electric car is cost-saving. In fuel cars we fill the fuel every week so that is a very expensive to afford the fuel car. In contrast, driverless electric car save that cost and is affordable. For example:- If someone who are not physically able to drive a car so they get into the driverless car. People also doing their work, sleep and enjoy the view of road when they have a driverless car. And the driverless car has run through in-built system so they follow traffic rules.
On the other hand, driverless car are running on software. So in rainy weather the system is effected and not working in some time. And in some cases the glitch in software so the car not working proparly. And because of the driverless car millions of driver losing their job. And some times it is hard to believe in driverless car because if the software hacked by someone so their is a problem who sitting in the car.
In conclusion, There are some disadvantages such as, software problem, job displacement, or etc. But the advantages are outweigh from that because it is use full for physical disebeld people, cost-effective and they follows traffic rule or etc.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both advantages and disadvantages, and a clear position is maintained throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention benefits like cost-saving and accessibility for disabled individuals, the explanations are brief and lack depth. For instance, the point about traffic rules is mentioned but not fully explored. The disadvantages, such as software glitches and job displacement, are also listed rather than being thoroughly analysed. To improve, aim to provide more detailed examples and logical explanations for each point to ensure the argument is fully developed rather than just stated.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand' and 'In conclusion' to signal shifts in the argument. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and the use of linking words is repetitive. For example, the frequent use of 'And' at the start of sentences disrupts the natural flow of the text. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensure that sentences are linked more fluidly to create a more sophisticated progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. You rely on simple, repetitive terms like 'driverless car' and 'software'. There are also some errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'proparly' instead of 'properly' and 'disebeld' instead of 'disabled'. While the meaning is clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and there is little attempt to use less common or more academic collocations. Expanding your vocabulary to include more topic-specific terminology would significantly improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('people is', 'car are running'), missing articles ('in rainy weather'), and incorrect verb forms ('people also doing their work'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of colons and commas. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like verb tense consistency and pluralisation.
