Student answer (Band 6.0)
In contemporary society, the recent trend for manufacturing driverless vehicles has been increasing due to various reason. As this trend has quite a few merits of its own such as, saving up fuel expenses and surge in engineers employment rates but, it does carry few demerits such as, robing drivers out of their jobs. According to my perspective, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages as it brings ease in people's life. This essay will discuss both the perspectives.
One of the significant reasons why it beneficial it's because due to rise in economic situation globally it is facilitating people in regarding of fuel expenses. As purchasing a driverless vehicle that runs on electricity and is commanded by Artificial Intelligence is a one time investment and people are able to save up the money utilized on petrol. Therefore, that money can be used on other various places. For instance, people residing in the USA has been purchasing Tesla's electric car that provides them a smooth and comfortable ride and they are able to save up monthly fuel expense. Furthermore, due to rise in the production of such vehicles helps in boosting the employment rates for numerous fields such as engineers, data analyst or business communities. This is because all these professions mentioned above are the backbone of manufacturing such transports and require extensive hard work and in return these, people are able to work more often rather than relying on government support. For example, it was noted in recent times that Germany's employment rate has increased in recent years as many engineers are travelling to work for such companies that provide them with better experience and incentives.
On the other hand, it carries multiple drawbacks that could cause harm in the future. One such notable instance, would be that if these cars and trucks are handled via AI than they might not always function properly as they might be unreliable or, maybe the owner forgets to maintain the latest transitions or any updates on them. Ultimately, the malfunctions could cause accidents and it will be dangerous to put such transports on road. For example, if an accident occurs, then according to law who would take the blame the owner of the car or the company that made the car. Moreover, not everyone is able to afford a decent education due to impoverished background. In order to, survive they take up low paying jobs such as being truck or school drivers. Owing, to the escalation in these novel technological advancements these people will be left with no jobs and, it will lead to higher unemployment rates which will cause a burden on the government to take care of the masses.
In conclusion, by taking up all the arguments into account it can be stated that the because of numerous merits, the advantages do outweigh the disadvantages. As it aids the employment sector which helps in increasing the country's economy and alleviates money stress from people's life. This will be beneficial in a longer run.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, providing a clear position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. The ideas are relevant, such as economic benefits and employment shifts, and are supported by examples like Tesla and the German labor market. However, the development is occasionally uneven; for instance, the argument regarding 'latest transitions' is vague and lacks clarity. While the position is maintained throughout, some points could be more deeply explored to reach a higher band. Overall, the response is well-structured and directly answers the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate the advantages and disadvantages. Cohesive devices are present, such as 'Furthermore', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion', though some transitions are slightly mechanical or misused, such as 'In order to, survive'. Referencing is generally clear, though some sentence-level connections are slightly clunky. The progression of ideas is easy to follow, and the essay maintains a consistent focus on the topic throughout.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, with attempts at topic-specific terms like 'Artificial Intelligence', 'technological advancements', and 'employment rates'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'robing drivers out of their jobs' (should be 'robbing'), 'latest transitions' (likely meant 'updates' or 'software versions'), and 'alleviates money stress'. While these errors do not impede communication, they demonstrate a lack of precision that prevents a higher score. The vocabulary is sufficient but lacks the flexibility and sophistication required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the recent trend', 'the USA'), prepositions ('in regarding of'), and punctuation (unnecessary commas, such as 'such as, saving'). Subject-verb agreement and word order issues occasionally appear, such as 'the because of numerous merits'. Despite these errors, the meaning is generally clear, and the errors do not cause significant difficulty for the reader. More attention to proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy would improve the score.
