Student answer (Band 6.0)
The world is changing from manual work to automation, and day by day the dependency of human beings on daily work is decreasing. I strongly believe that one day transport vehicles will convert into driverless setups, and the advantages of that change will outweigh the disadvantages.
Firstly, by converting the daily transport vehicles into driverless and controlling them from anywhere in the world, decrease the dependency of drivers for transport. By this step, the profit of transport companies will also increase but also enhance the safety of buses and trucks. Moreover, in case of any strike from the transport union, the owners will not worry about the moving of vehicles on the road because they control their lorries from anywhere in the world. For instance, most of the transport as well as goods vehicles in Japan are driverless, and they are giving good results, and no accidents have been reported by these automated vehicles.
On the other hand, automation of vehicles creates a major problem of unemployment. Due to the conversion of a vehicle into a technology-controlled vehicle, drivers will become idols, and it will create disturbance in the society by various means. Furthermore, by any cyberattack, transport will become an idol, and it will be controlled by a hacker, which is very dangerous for passengers. Recently, one of the Tesla company's machines controlled a truck that hit the vehicles because their motion sensors were not working at that time, and it did not sense the vehicles nearby.
In conclusion, the conversion of a human-controlled vehicle to a machine-controlled one in the future is a good step towards comfort and accuracy because humans may make errors due to any negligence and emotions. For a broader perspective, the advantages of driverless vehicles in the future outweigh the disadvantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, clearly stating a position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. The ideas are relevant, covering economic benefits and safety on one side, and unemployment and security risks on the other. However, the development is somewhat uneven. The argument regarding 'strikes' is a good point, but the example about Japan is vague and lacks specific evidence. The conclusion effectively summarizes the position. To reach a higher band, ensure that examples are more specific and that the logical links between the advantages and the overall position are more robustly explained.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the advantages and disadvantages. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Moreover', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as the use of 'idols' (likely meaning 'idle') which disrupts the flow of the argument. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear, but the essay would benefit from a more varied range of cohesive devices to improve the natural flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'automation' and 'cyberattack'. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice that occasionally impede precision. For example, the word 'idols' is used incorrectly to mean 'idle' or 'unemployed', and 'moving of vehicles' is slightly unnatural. While the meaning is generally conveyed, these inaccuracies prevent the response from reaching a higher band. Focusing on collocations and precise word usage will help improve this score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'decrease the dependency' (missing subject or incorrect verb form) and 'by any cyberattack' (incorrect preposition usage). Additionally, there are issues with sentence construction, such as 'the owners will not worry about the moving of vehicles'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency. Increasing the frequency of error-free complex sentences and proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement would significantly improve the score.
