Student answer (Band 6.0)

In Future all means of transport will be driverless. The only individuals traveling inside will these vehicles will be passengers. I personal belive that is has more pros then cons.

With these AI driven means of transport it will reduce the human error and that will cause decline in fatel accidents more lifes will be saved. For example we all heare that some drunk driver crashed the car and die on the spot but their are innocent lives that where also lost in the process and now for a second just imagine that drunk driver went in his AI car and that car just took him home safely, so i think this is one of the biggest advantage.

It will also save time the driver can now to other things like taking a call or actually enjoying with his friend and be passenger priencess.

But on the other hand the only disadvantage i can think of is some people love to drive it is their escape from reality and enjoy some alone time. I belive it would be great if AI cars can be turn manual when needed and back to AI when ever we want.

Even now we can see that some car like tesla are introducing self driving car and i belive it has proven to be a great success and their is a gllobal shift that people are now moving toward a clean energy and AI to reduce human error.

In conclusion i belive the are a lot of benefits of self driving transport that outweigh its disadvantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both advantages and disadvantages, maintaining a clear position that the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. The argument regarding safety is supported by a personal anecdote, but the discussion on the disadvantages is quite brief and lacks depth. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the implications of your points—for example, discussing the economic impact of job losses in the transport sector or the ethical dilemmas of AI decision-making. The conclusion is present but could be more robust by summarising the main points rather than simply restating the position.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and limited. Transitions between sentences are often abrupt, and there is a lack of sophisticated linking words to connect ideas within paragraphs. For instance, the transition between the safety argument and the time-saving argument is weak. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as 'that is has more pros then cons' where the subject is ambiguous. Improving the variety of your cohesive devices and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would significantly improve the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for a higher band. You rely on basic terms like 'good', 'big', and 'things'. There are also several spelling errors ('fatel', 'heare', 'priencess', 'gllobal') and word choice issues ('enjoying with his friend' instead of 'socialising'). To improve, you should aim to use more academic collocations and precise terminology related to technology and transport. While your meaning is generally clear, the frequent spelling mistakes and limited vocabulary range prevent a higher score in this criterion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('there are innocent lives that where also lost'), incorrect verb forms ('can now to other things'), and punctuation errors. The sentence structure is often repetitive, and there is a lack of control over complex grammatical forms. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct tense usage, and proofreading for common errors like missing articles or incorrect prepositions. Increasing the variety of complex structures while maintaining accuracy is essential for a higher band.
