Student answer (Band 5.0)

Today, i would talk about the future cars all vehicles will be drive without the car driver. The people travel these vehicles will be passenger only.We live in modern society, life is change very quickly. In future it will be possible all cars will without driver.Scientist work about it.

I think that advantages of car without driver is very useful. The fist advantage is people do not need to drive car if it is busy.Life is very busy today. They just sent to their car for their any work.Taxi driver will not be used to drive the car, they just call the car and they come.Life is very easy after that.If the car driver their own the accidents limits in controls.Traffic is in control.People do not any stress. Those peoples who understand the driving is very difficult, after that they will be feel very relax.Passengers can use their driving work to their study and work.

After advantages, there are also certain disadvantages of this life. The main is lack of technology. If the technology if fall due to any reason the car will be useless. These are not able to drive the car.Second main reason is hacking the technology,if the technology is hacked the cars are very useless. The other disadvantage is less of jobs.If this technology is used the drivers become without jobs.

My ,own experience is drivers is the perfect way to drive the car on roads. They handle situation better than robots. If their any critical situation is held they do their best to manage it.Their experience is better enough. The advance technology is not better enough.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both advantages and disadvantages of driverless vehicles. However, the development of ideas is limited and often repetitive. For instance, the points regarding 'stress' and 'time for work' are mentioned but not fully explored or supported with concrete examples. The position is clear, but the arguments lack depth and sophistication. The conclusion provides a personal opinion, but it is somewhat disconnected from the previous points made. To improve, you should aim to expand on your main ideas by providing specific scenarios or logical consequences rather than listing points briefly.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is very limited and often mechanical. Transitions between sentences are frequently missing or awkward, such as 'After advantages, there are also certain disadvantages'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult to track the flow of ideas. The progression of arguments is somewhat disjointed, and the lack of varied linking words makes the writing feel repetitive. Improving the use of transition signals (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'on the other hand') would significantly enhance the logical flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. You frequently use simple words like 'very', 'good', 'use', and 'drive'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'the accidents limits in controls' and 'the technology if fall'. These errors occasionally make the meaning unclear. To reach a higher band, you need to use a wider range of vocabulary, including less common lexical items and more precise collocations related to technology and transportation. Avoid overusing generic intensifiers like 'very' and try to incorporate more descriptive, academic language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede readability. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'drivers is the perfect way'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple or contain fragments, such as 'Scientist work about it.' Complex sentence structures are attempted but are often inaccurate, leading to confusion. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses, and proofreading for common errors like missing articles and pluralisation.
