Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the advantages and disadvantages of driverless vehicles, but the development is very limited. While you state a position, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack depth. The example provided regarding a university project is anecdotal and does not effectively support a broader argument about the future of transportation. The conclusion is present but lacks a summary of the main points. To improve, you should aim to provide more detailed explanations for your arguments, such as discussing traffic efficiency or safety statistics, rather than relying on a single personal anecdote. The response is quite brief in its analysis, which prevents it from reaching a higher band score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear structure. There is no clear paragraphing, and the flow of ideas is disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is very limited and often repetitive (e.g., 'every thing had advantage and disadvantage'). The transition between the introduction, the body, and the conclusion is abrupt, making the text difficult to follow. To improve, you should organize your essay into distinct paragraphs: an introduction, two body paragraphs (one for advantages, one for disadvantages), and a conclusion. Using linking words like 'furthermore', 'however', 'consequently', and 'on the other hand' will help guide the reader through your arguments more effectively.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits your ability to express complex ideas. There are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'percpactive' instead of 'perspective', 'damge' instead of 'damage', and 'eople' instead of 'people'. You rely on simple, everyday language and struggle to use more precise or academic terminology. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to technology and transportation. Additionally, proofreading for basic spelling errors is essential, as these mistakes distract the reader and lower the overall quality of your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The grammar is characterized by frequent errors that often impede communication. There are significant issues with sentence structure, subject-verb agreement, and punctuation. For example, 'in today era the many thing is more develop' should be 'in today's era, many things are more developed'. You rely almost exclusively on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences are often grammatically incorrect. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct verb tenses and the use of articles. Practicing the difference between singular and plural forms will also help reduce the frequency of your errors.
