Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this contemporary era, due to advanced technology like Artificial Intelligence and robotics are transforming transpotation system. Some people believe that driverless cars, buses and trucks will be a part of future generation. The only people will be travelled in these vehicles as passenegers. However, driverless vehicles may create unemployment concerns. I believe their advantages of driverless vehicles outweigh the disadvantages.

The most signoficant advantage of autonomus vehicles is improved road safety. Road accident occured because of irresponsibities, fatigue drivers, distractions and many more. Driverless systems can countinuously monitor their surrounding situations and immediately give responses. Furthermore, autonomus vehicles provise more benefits for people who suffer from disabilities or lives in individuals who find driving difficult. Another reason is increased efficiency. For instance, Tesla automobile company launched tesla car. This car is fully automatic function and has electric version. Nowadays, it widely used in America or other countries.

Neverthless, there are several cone. The first and foremost is job displacement, particularly for taxi drivers, truck drivers and other professions. As autonomus technolgy becomes more popular, many people loss their job and source of income and increases poverty. For example, many automatic vehicles like a cleaner machine used in commercial malls and supermarkets. These reduce employments. Another reason is reliabilty. All automation work on the Artificial Intelligence base, so within few time software update is required. That time all machines could not worked.

In conclusion, although driverless vehicles could cause negative impact on employment and sheldomly raided some reliabilty issues. However, I believe automation improve road safety, accesibility, comfortness and transport efficiency.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The student addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of driverless vehicles and presents a clear position throughout the essay. The introduction clearly states the writer's belief that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Ideas are introduced and supported with examples, such as the mention of Tesla and job displacement. However, some arguments tend to be brief and under-developed, particularly regarding reliability and the specific benefits for disabled individuals. The discussion would benefit from further extension and depth to reach higher bands. Overall, the task is addressed adequately, fitting the criteria for a Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a recognisable introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different points, such as advantages and disadvantages. However, cohesion is at times mechanical or faulty, as seen with transitions like 'Neverthless, there are several cone' and 'That time all machines could not worked.' Referencing and logical progression are occasionally unclear, and some sentences lack smooth linking devices. While the text is readable and follows a logical path, these cohesive flaws place the performance firmly at a Band 6.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The student attempts a range of vocabulary suitable for the topic, including terms like 'transportation system', 'unemployment concerns', 'autonomous vehicles', and 'job displacement'. However, there are notable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, such as 'transpotation', 'passenegers', 'signoficant', 'autonomus', 'provise', 'cone', 'loss' instead of 'lose', and 'comfortness'. These errors occasionally impede smooth reading, although meaning remains generally clear. The use of less common vocabulary shows an attempt to vary language, but frequent inaccuracies prevent the score from rising above a Band 5.5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt at varied grammatical structures. For instance, the writer uses subordinate clauses like 'although driverless vehicles could cause...' and 'As autonomous technology becomes more popular...'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb forms, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions, such as 'due to advanced technology like Artificial Intelligence and robotics are transforming', 'Road accident occured', 'lives in individuals', and 'all machines could not worked'. These errors require some effort to decode and prevent the grammar from reaching a higher band. Overall, a Band 5.0 is appropriate.
