Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this contemporary era, advanced technologies like Artificial Intelligence and robotics are transforming transpotation system. Some people believe that driverless cars, buses and trucks will be a part of future generation. The only people will be travelling in these vehicles as passenegers. However, driverless vehicles may create unemployment concerns. I believe their advantages of driverless vehicles outweigh the disadvantages.
The most significant advantage of autonomous vehicles is improved road safety. Road accident occured because of irresponsible driver, driver fatigue, distractions and many more. Driverless systems can continuously monitor their surrounding situations and immediately give responses. Furthermore, autonomous vehicles provide more benefits for people who suffer from disabilities or lives in individuals who find driving difficult. Another reason is increased efficiency. For instance, one year ago, Tesla automobile company launched tesla car. This car is fully automatic function, advanced driving assistance and has an electric version. Nowadays, it widely used in America or other countries.
Neverthless, there are several disadvantages. The first and foremost concern is job displacement, particularly for taxi drivers, truck drivers and other automobile professions. As autonomous technolgy becomes more popular, many people loss their job and source of income and increases poverty. For example, many automatic vehicles like a cleaner machine used in commercial malls and supermarkets. These reduce employments. Another reason is reliabilty. All automation work on the Artificial Intelligence base, so within few time a software update is required, the vehicles become temporary unavailable.
In conclusion, although driverless vehicles could cause negative impact on employment and sheldomly raised some reliabilty issues. However, I believe automation improve road safety, accesibility, comfortness and transport efficiency.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The student addresses all parts of the task by discussing both advantages and disadvantages of driverless vehicles and clearly states a personal position in the introduction, concluding that advantages outweigh disadvantages. Ideas are introduced, such as road safety, accessibility, and job displacement, though some supporting arguments are somewhat under-developed or rely on broad generalisations. For example, the mention of Tesla lacks deeper analytical integration with the overall theme. However, the core requirements of Task 2 are successfully met, showing a clear line of argumentation throughout the essay, which aligns well with the expectations for a Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The response is organised into a logical paragraph structure, moving from an introduction to body paragraphs handling advantages and disadvantages, and finishing with a conclusion. Cohesive devices are employed, such as 'Furthermore', 'Another reason', and 'Neverthless', although some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive in structure. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate main ideas, but referencing is occasionally loose, such as connecting previous ideas to subsequent sentences. Overall progression is clear, fitting the criteria for a Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range for the task, attempting less common lexical items such as 'autonomous vehicles', 'job displacement', and 'accessibility'. However, there are notable spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'transpotation' for transportation, 'passenegers' for passengers, 'occured' for occurred, 'technolgy' for technology, 'loss' for lose, 'reliabilty' for reliability, and 'sheldomly' for seldom. While these errors are noticeable and stem from slips in spelling or form, they do not severely impede communication, placing the vocabulary performance solidly at a Band 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating clauses with conditional and causal links. However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are several noticeable errors throughout the text, including missing articles and copular verbs (e.g., 'The only people will be travelling', 'lives in individuals'), incorrect prepositions, and subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., 'All automation work on', 'the vehicles become temporary unavailable'). While these errors occasionally cause minor difficulty for the reader, communication remains intact. This balance of mixed structures and frequent control errors corresponds to a Band 5.5.
