Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is argue that in due course all cars, buses and trucks will be automanous. The main demerits are failure of techonlogy and job losses, it has several benefits too.
On the one hand, One of the major demerits is risk of failure of technology, this is due to the fact that technology is not considered realible as it depends upon the various codes and propramms in which a tiny interuption may cause drastic accidents. Another disadvantage of this is umemployment,to justify automatic vehicles do not have need of drivers due to which driverj would become jobless. Therefore, it affects the economic condition of the people.
On the other hand, there are various evidence in its favour which are substantial. One of the many, the major one is the greater convience which means people may not feel stress of driving as it demands deep concentration and they can finish their pendind work and task while travelling in a self-operating cars.Another worth considering benefit is improve mobility for them to travel from one place to another. One final thing that cannot be overlooked is the lower fuel consumption and pollution. To elaborate, automatic vehicles generally operate with the help of battery and these do not create any pollution which assist to control carbon emission on earth.
To conclude, even though there are several negative aspects that oppose the automatic cars, buses and trucks, the main positive aspects are convience and less pollution should as it can benefit

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of driverless vehicles, presenting a position that the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. However, there are several task-related issues. Firstly, the response is 245 words long, which fails to meet the minimum 250-word requirement, resulting in a necessary penalty under Task Achievement. Secondly, the conclusion is abruptly cut off mid-sentence ("the main positive aspects are convience and less pollution should as it can benefit"), leaving the final thought incomplete and failing to properly summarise the argument. While the main ideas such as technological failure, unemployment, convenience, and reduced pollution are relevant and supported to an extent, the lack of full development in the conclusion and the under-length penalty restrict the score to a Band 5.5.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into four paragraphs, following a traditional introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to signal shifts between ideas, such as "On the one hand" and "On the other hand". However, referencing and logical progression are frequently hindered by awkward phrasing and mechanical transitions (e.g., "Another disadvantage of this is umemployment,to justify automatic vehicles do not have need of drivers"). Paragraphing is attempted, but the abrupt termination of the conclusion disrupts the overall flow and structural integrity of the piece. While there is a discernible overall structure, the mechanical execution and disjointed sentences place this criterion firmly at Band 5.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is a mix of adequate and limited terms, accompanied by noticeable spelling and word-choice errors. The student attempts less common vocabulary items, such as "automanous" (autonomous), "techonlogy" (technology), "realible" (reliable), "propramms" (programs), "interuption" (interruption), "umemployment" (unemployment), "convience" (convenience), and "pendind" (pending). Many of these contain spelling mistakes or inaccurate collocations. Although the writer's intentions are generally understandable, the frequency of lexical errors causes some difficulty for the reader and prevents the response from achieving a higher band, making Band 5.0 appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar and punctuation is weak. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ("automatic vehicles generally operate with the help of battery and these do not create"), incorrect preposition usage, and faulty clause integration (e.g., "It is argue that", "driverj would become jobless"). Punctuation and spacing errors are also prevalent, such as missing spaces after commas. Because complex structures are frequently faulty and errors cause constant difficulty or hesitation for the reader, the writing aligns closely with the Band 5.0 descriptors.
