Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the nature of driverless vehicles and giving a clear position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, focusing on convenience and technological advancement. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on advantages largely circles back to automatic features and comfort without delving deeper into economic, safety, or logistical implications. Furthermore, the inclusion of irrelevant phrases such as 'with its relevant panacea' indicates a misunderstanding of vocabulary and affects task completion. While a clear position is maintained throughout the essay, the arguments remain fairly basic and under-developed, aligning best with Band 5.0 descriptors for Task Achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay demonstrates some overall organisation with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions and poor paragraph structuring, such as the sudden shift into the advantages paragraph with 'Moreover, First and the foremost'. Cohesive devices are often used inaccurately or mechanically, as seen with 'To embark with' and 'To recapitulate'. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, such as pronouns whose antecedents are vague. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal flow within paragraphs lacks smooth transitions, resulting in a somewhat disjointed reading experience that matches the Band 5.0 descriptors.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently impeded by numerous word choice and spelling errors. Examples of lexical inaccuracies include 'obserevd', 'driveless', 'vechicles', 'artifical intteligience', 'gare', and 'feactures'. The student attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'panacea' and 'plethora', but uses them inappropriately or out of context. While the general meaning of the text can still be understood despite these errors, the lexical range is narrow, and the high frequency of spelling and morphological errors keeps the score at Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0 for minimally adequate task coverage.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The writing contains a very limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and faulty attempts at complex ones. Frequent grammatical errors occur throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('vehicles work', 'technology works'), incorrect prepositions, and awkward phrasing such as 'masses have no need to pay attention on driving vihicles they just enjoy with their family.' Punctuation is also problematic, with missing spaces after periods and comma splices. These recurring errors cause noticeable difficulty for the reader and mean the grammar falls below the Band 6 threshold, fitting best at Band 4.5, reported as 4.5.
