Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is considered by many individuals that all the vehicles will be automated in the future. There may be no need for drivers. Althogh, this may result in job losses for drivers. But despite of drawbacks, i believe advantages are far more significant, in terms of improving safety and increasing convenience for passengers.

The main demerit associated with this phenomenon is that potential loss of jobs for drivers. By introducing this technology, there will be no need for drivers. Because, individuals will have self-controlled cars, buses and trucks. For example, there are many individuals who depends on this profession and they get money from driving. Those families will be affected more. In result, technogy can negetively affect indidviduals who rely on driving.

The merits of this outlook are way ahead of the mentioned demerits. Driverless vehicles will impove safety of the individuals. As a result, road accidents and human errors will be reduced. Moreover, passengers will enjoy their journey. They can perform their tasks during their jorney. For instance, person who have emergency meeting to attend, they can attend their meeting while completely relying on self-controlled feature of the car and handle the journey.

To conclude, although deriverless vehicles may cause unemployement, i personally think that advantages outweigh this disadvantage. It will improve road safety and ease of travel for passengers. This have potential benefits to society.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of driverless vehicles, taking a clear position that the advantages outweigh the drawbacks. However, the development of ideas remains somewhat limited and repetitive, with brief mentions of safety and job losses rather than deeper exploration. Furthermore, the response has a negative impact on Task Achievement due to length: the text contains 227 words, failing to meet the minimum requirement of 250 words. This under-length shortfall restricts the depth to which the ideas can be extended, resulting in a band score of 5.5.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into four paragraphs with a basic introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing an overall structure. However, paragraphing and logical progression are occasionally hindered by abrupt transitions and faulty cohesive devices. For instance, sentences often begin with conjunctions or transitional phrases like "Althogh, this may result..." and "Because, individuals will...", which interrupts the flow of ideas. While referencing is generally understandable, the mechanical use of cohesive devices and the lack of smoother transitions prevent the text from achieving a higher band score.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some topic-specific terms such as "automated", "driverless vehicles", and "unemployment". However, there are notable spelling errors and inaccurate word choices throughout the text, such as "Althogh", "impove", "jorney", "unemployement", and the phrase "get money from driving". Additionally, repetition of common words like "individuals" and "advantages" limits the lexical variety. While communication is not severely impeded, the frequency of errors in spelling and collocation restricts the score to a 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar and punctuation is inconsistent. There are frequent grammatical errors and punctuation slips, such as starting sentences with conjunctions ("Althogh, this may result...", "But despite of drawbacks..."), missing articles ("person who have emergency meeting"), and subject-verb agreement issues ("technogy can negetively affect"). Although the meaning is generally decipherable, the density of structural and mechanical errors means that error-free sentences are in the minority, making a band 5.0 the most appropriate descriptor.
