Student answer (Band 5.5)

These days some people seem to argue that all vehicles such as cars, HTV trucks, and buses will be driverless due to innovation of technology and AI and only the commuters will travel along these vehicles. However, I agree to a great extent with the idea that the driverless transportion system has more benefits as it will facilitate in all sectors and more convenient. But there are also some negative factor of this issue. This essay shall discuss all the viewpoint.

In the first place, it would be quite interesting to note that the technology is arriving so rapidly so it might be possible that all transportation will likely to convert into driverless. One advantage of this factor is that owners will invest more money on EV cars and other transports because this approach will open an additional source of income for them. One illustration for this is that business owners can run an additional company in their time. In addition, this innovation will also contribute in the country economy owing to this can bring a huge proportion of tourist and ultimately people come to experience such driverless cars and buses.

Another major advantage of this side of the topic seem to be this feature will also remove communication and language barrier between driver and passenger because tourist and driver often face problems to understand eachother.

Yet there is a dark side of the topic which needs consideration is that, this innovation will increase the chances of collisions between various transports as these all vehicles will be integerated from AI and it may be possible that due to any technical fault. it leads to futher collions and put a passenger life in danger.

In conclusion, i am convinced to say that it is indeed a debatable issue which need futher analysis and discussion. However, in the light of above-discussed arguments and examples. I am quite safe to conclude that the advantages or driverless car outweigh its disadvantages in many aspects.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The student addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both the likelihood of driverless vehicles and giving an opinion on whether the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. A clear position is stated in the introduction and maintained through to the conclusion. Main ideas are presented, such as the economic benefits and safety concerns, but they tend to be under-developed and lack specific, concrete support. For example, the claim about business owners running an additional company in their time is vague and insufficiently elaborated. Additionally, the reasoning regarding tourism lacks depth. While the task is addressed, the overall development of ideas aligns more closely with Band 6 criteria, where some aspects are under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt at paragraphing, separating the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. However, the logical progression is frequently hindered by clumsy transitional phrases and mechanical cohesive devices, such as 'In the first place', 'Another major advantage of this side of the topic', and 'Yet there is a dark side of the topic which needs consideration is that'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly with pronouns like 'this side of the topic' and 'this factor', which creates ambiguity. Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion within paragraphs often feels disjointed due to awkward phrasing and run-on structures. These issues place the response solidly in the Band 5 to 6 range.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range for the task, successfully using terms like 'transportation system', 'innovation', and 'collision'. However, there are noticeable limitations and inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'along these vehicles' instead of 'in these vehicles', 'country economy' instead of 'national economy', and 'integerated from AI' instead of 'integrated with AI'. There are also minor slips like 'futher' instead of 'further'. While less common vocabulary is attempted, the inaccuracies occasionally make the reading slightly cumbersome, though communication is not severely impeded. This performance corresponds to a Band 5.5 or 6.0, reflecting sufficient yet imprecise lexical control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some variety. However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with frequent errors that cause difficulty for the reader. Notable errors include subject-verb agreement issues ('this feature will also remove... because tourist and driver often face'), dangling modifiers ('owing to this can bring'), and punctuation mistakes, such as a stray full stop in the middle of a sentence ('due to any technical fault. it leads to futher collions'). Furthermore, several sentences are overly convoluted and grammatically flawed, such as 'Yet there is a dark side of the topic which needs consideration is that...'. Due to the high frequency of structural and mechanical errors, a Band 5.0 is appropriate.
