Student answer (Band 5.5)
In future all transports are going to be driverless. Cars, buses, and trucks will only have passengers inside them. Some people might face unemployenment due to this but the overall benefits would minimize the concerns.
The increased amount of automated vehicles will reduce the rate of road accidents. For example, many collisions on road happens due the human error such as, most of the people do not follow traffic rules, the drivers was exhausted, talking on a phone, or lost in their thoughts even for a moment. A small mistake can leads to an accident. Moreover many people do overspeeding sometimes when they are late and some of them just do it for the thrill. However a machine working on the automaton is trained as per the prompts given to it. Considering a transport following rules and regulations strictly would reflect in less number of road accidents and more desciplined traffic system on roads.
The other benefit could be the time saved, the hours people spent on driving can be used to do something more creative or for relaxing. For example, someone who is tired of working after a long day and still have to drive to reach home would be more exhausted with the thought, or the people going on vacation can enjoy the views and be creative with how to enjoy the most of this period. Furthermore people with any kind of physical disability can travel more easily without depending on any other human.
Currently the automated cars being used lacks in terms of mileage they provide and needs to be replaced more often but this cope the problem of less jobs. There will be more vehicles on the road if we move to this development taht can be managed with an obedient and more relying automated system.
In Conclusion the benifits overcome the the fears and concerns communities had related to to automated transportation and its useage will increase with people's interaction with it slowly over the time.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both advantages and disadvantages, presenting a clear position that the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. The writer introduces relevant ideas such as safety improvements, time savings, and increased accessibility for individuals with disabilities, while also touching upon unemployment and vehicle efficiency. However, some ideas lack deep extension or detailed support, and the discussion on disadvantages is relatively brief compared to the advantages. For instance, the mention of unemployment in the introduction and conclusion is not fully developed in a dedicated body paragraph. Overall, the task is adequately and clearly addressed, aligning well with the Band 6 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay presents a clear logical organisation, moving from an introductory statement to body paragraphs focusing on safety and time-saving benefits, followed by a brief counter-discussion and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. Cohesive devices are employed, such as 'Moreover', 'However', and 'Furthermore', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical or repetitive. Referencing is generally clear, but occasional minor lapses in logical progression between sentences keep the cohesion from reaching a higher band. Overall, the structure provides a coherent framework that is easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'automated vehicles', 'desciplined', and 'unemployenment'. However, there are several noticeable spelling errors ('unemployenment', 'happens' instead of 'happen', 'taht', 'benifits', 'overcome the the', 'useage') and occasional awkward word choices or collocations, such as 'do overspeeding' and 'relying automated system'. While these errors do not impede overall communication, they restrict the lexical score to a Band 6, as they show limitations in precision and control over less common lexical items.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at subordination and relative clauses, such as 'someone who is tired of working after a long day and still have to drive...'. There are, however, frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('the drivers was exhausted', 'transport following rules... would reflect'), tense inconsistencies, and punctuation errors (e.g., run-on sentences like 'A small mistake can leads to an accident. Moreover many people...'). Although these errors occur regularly throughout the text, the meaning remains comprehensible, which fits the Band 5 profile well.
