Student answer (Band 4.5)

in future all cars, buses and truckd will be driverless . the only people travelling inside these vechiles will be passengers. In my opinion this has my advantages. we will discus this advantages.

on the other hand, why i regarded this essay may many advantages. in first the people are free to dive the car. when the go to long trip they are only rest and enjoy inside the. people are free to work. buses and truck s are reached their location time to time. i thik this is a very good. when driverless cars, buses, truckks are open accident will we resduce.

on the other hand, there has many advantages, like first people are free to work. they have only rest in the cars. they don't drive the car. when they are druck they only clic the one button and the reached a home. i think this is very useful for all peoples. they cannot learn how to drive the car. when they go to offlice they are only working in the car not driving the car. i think when driverless cars and buses are installed people have not made a licence because they don't dive the car. when a people are very sick and there has no anyone the car was automtically reached him a hospital. they not want a driver. so in my opinion, as soon as possible the driverless car are comming. i think under 18 people are go anywhere with a car they don't need a driver.

on the way of conclusion, this development is very useful for all people. they only rest in the car and other transport. i think main point of this view is a accident will be reduce. bescause mainly the of accident are overtaking only and drive speed in car and cross the limit of speed.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The student attempts to address the prompt regarding whether the advantages of driverless vehicles outweigh the disadvantages by arguing that there are multiple benefits, such as increased freedom, safety, and productivity. However, the response falls short of fully developing a clear, well-supported position. Ideas are stated repetitively—such as passengers being free to work or rest—without being extended into thorough arguments. Furthermore, the counter-argument regarding disadvantages is acknowledged superficially without detailed exploration. While the writer outlines several perceived benefits, the overall development remains limited and somewhat superficial, aligning most closely with the Band 5 descriptors where ideas are present but under-developed and the position becomes repetitive.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The text is divided into paragraphs, but the organizational structure is weak and lacks clear logical progression. The introduction is extremely brief and informal ('we will discus this advantages'). Throughout the essay, transitional phrases are misused or heavily repetitive, such as starting multiple paragraphs with 'on the other hand, why i regarded this essay' and 'on the other hand, there has many advantages'. Cohesive devices are used mechanically and inaccurately, making the flow disjointed. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal grouping of ideas lacks clear thematic separation, with points about safety and convenience scattered across different sections. This demonstrates the characteristics of Band 4 to Band 5, ultimately fitting Band 4 due to the frequent confusion in logical sequencing and referencing.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is very basic, repetitive, and restricted to simple everyday language (e.g., 'car', 'bus', 'truck', 'work', 'rest', 'button'). There are numerous spelling errors throughout the text, including 'truckd', 'vechiles', 'discus', 'druck' (drunk), 'clic', 'offlice', 'bescause', and 'drive speed'. The student attempts some less common concepts like 'automatically reached', but the incorrect word choice and widespread spelling mistakes significantly strain the reader and obscure meaning at times. The lexical range is minimal and inadequate for developing precise arguments, making Band 4 the appropriate descriptor for this criterion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammatical range is extremely limited, consisting almost entirely of simple sentences and faulty attempts at complex or compound structures (e.g., 'when they go to offlice they are only working in the car not driving the car', 'when a people are very sick and there has no anyone the car was automtically reached him a hospital'). Errors in tense, subject-verb agreement, articles, and prepositions are pervasive and occur in almost every sentence. Punctuation and capitalization are also widely neglected, with sentences starting with lowercase letters. These frequent errors cause severe difficulty for the reader and distort meaning, aligning the response firmly with Band 4.
