IELTS Writing Task 2 question

In the future all cars, buses and trucks will be driverless. The only people travelling inside these vehicles will be passengers.

Do you think the advantages of driverless vehicles outweigh the disadvantages?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

In upcoming years all the vehicles will move automaticall without drivers. The only individuals sitting inside these automobiles will travellers.Although this method has certain drawbacks, I strongly believe that the advantages of driverless vehicles outweight the disadvantages.

One major advantage of driverless cars, buses is that they will use Artificial intelligence (AI) for driving automatically, which is called autopilot because it reduces the risk of accidents. For example the automibles of tesla, which uses AI technology in there vehicles and the safely run without drivers. Another benefit is for the taxi companies they would not have to pay saparatly to drivers for rides if they use autopilot mode in vehicles, which is driverless ride for the passengers. Furthermore advantage of this technology is that passengers will have there privicy and can feel safe, because the drivers are strangers for them, so by using this tech every individual will safe secure.

Apart from this there are some disadvantages of this practices, Without drivers the vehicles will drove but if there any problem occurs who will handlke that. For instance if a passenger is travelling in a car which is driverless and suddenly that cars stops in the middle of road and the passenger do not know how to handle the car which will make a lot of trouble for the passenger and other vehicles on the road. Another disadvantage of this technology will be for the drivers who earns money from driving, They will loss there job by this advance technology.

In Conclusion, while driverless cars, buses and trucks have certain drawbacks as system failure and loss of jobs for drivers, Its benifits in terms of effortless drive and safe ride for passengers are more siginificant. Therefore i believe that advantages of driverless vehicles clearly outweight the disadvantages.
