Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is said that in the future all vehicles will be driverless where we will only be the passengers travelling inside the cars, buses or trucks. Its possible and might come true in the future.

This debate is agreed by many people that its effective and nicer. The drivers can relax and can do more comforting works.Lets say we are travelling in the night bus and sleeping in the back but the driver is still drivingfor their home .People are becomming more and more exhusted by these works. Accident happens when they were driving carelessly. I am not saying that driverless car are harmless but with the proper guidance and technology, it is way better than drove by driver.

Driverless vehicles might increase unemployment but it will be much more safer and reliable for people. They can rest properly and go on a night rides and tour without worrying about the driver and for being tired. They can save their time and also do work in their own car without hesistation.Driverless cars will decrease accidents and increase awareness. It will create job opportunities in AI companies for young peoples.

In conclusion, It is better and safer, if in the future it really can be happen. In my opinion , it will help us to relax and travel without problem by ourselves. Also it will be the bestest gift for night drivers. Even it might decrease the employment in vehicles, i think its better that way because nothing is important than your life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The student addresses the prompt by discussing the advantages and disadvantages of driverless vehicles, touching upon safety, relaxation, and unemployment. However, the response falls just short of the 250-word minimum requirement at 249 words, which results in a penalty under Task Achievement. Furthermore, the position is somewhat simplistic and ideas such as 'driving for their home' or 'bestest gift' lack full academic development and extension, leading to a Band 5 score. To improve, the student must expand their arguments with more depth, ensure word count requirements are met safely, and maintain a clearer, more formal academic tone throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the overall organization and logical progression are weak. Transitions between ideas feel abrupt and mechanical. For example, sentences like 'This debate is agreed by many people that its effective and nicer' lack smooth connectivity with the surrounding text. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the pronoun shift in 'where we will only be the passengers travelling inside the cars, buses or trucks. Its possible...'. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within paragraphs lacks sophistication, resulting in a Band 5 score for this criterion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student demonstrates a limited and basic vocabulary range appropriate for simple communication, but falls short of the precision needed for higher bands. Words and phrases like 'comforting works', 'exhusted', 'bestest gift', and 'hesistation' highlight frequent spelling and word-choice errors. While the topic is understandable, the lexical resource is constrained by basic phrasing and unnatural collocations. To reach a higher band, the student needs to incorporate a wider variety of less common academic vocabulary with accurate spellings and collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response features a mix of simple sentence forms and attempted complex structures, but these attempts are frequently flawed. Errors in grammar, punctuation, and article usage are noticeable throughout the text, such as 'Accident happens when they were driving carelessly' (subject-verb agreement), 'than drove by driver' (incorrect voice/form), and missing apostrophes in contractions like 'Its'. While communication is rarely completely blocked, the high frequency of grammatical inaccuracies keeps the score at a Band 5 level.
