Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the upcoming decade, all kind of vehicles including cars, buses as well as trucks will become autonomous vehicles. While the individuals that will travel in the cars will be the only transit riders. Although this technology will have certain few advantages however, I contemplate that advantages not outweigh the disadvantages.
On one hand, there will numerous drawbacks of cars without drivers. Initially, it will led to severe accidents because we will be totally relying on the AI feature. Since AI and technologies can do mistakes and there are a lot of glitches suddenly present in software. Therefore, this can cause accidents in years ahead. Furthermore, Driverless cars will take away the jobs of drivers. The person who are bringing up their families with the sustenance from driving jobs will become jobless in the future generation. For instance, when the driverless cars will finally come in market. There will not any need of drivers further. This will be a significant problem for the middle class people. Additionally, if there will any problem occur in the vehicle, the passengers will not be not able to solve this dilemma without any expert guide. We also know that the drivers are the one who are enough master in repair petite problems in cars.
On the other hand, this will also give some benefits like the journey will cover without any tiredness and exhaust. A major contribution factor is that when the drivers drive a car for a long period they usually feels fatigue. Thus, autonomous cars will diminish this problem. Beside that, the individual in the car will use mobile phone and will interact with their loved ones without any difficulty faced in traffic congestion.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The student addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of driverless vehicles and taking a clear, although somewhat repetitive, position that the disadvantages outweigh the benefits. Ideas are extended and supported, such as mentioning the impact on jobs and potential software glitches. However, there is a tendency to over-generalize and some arguments, particularly regarding the benefits paragraph, remain somewhat underdeveloped. For instance, the discussion on reduced tiredness is brief and lacks sufficient depth. Overall, the response meets the criteria for Band 6.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay has a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, separating the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Cohesive devices are employed, such as 'On one hand', 'Furthermore', 'Additionally', and 'On the other hand', although their use is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. Referencing is generally clear, but logical progression within paragraphs falters at times due to abrupt transitions and awkward sentence structures, such as moving from software glitches directly to job losses without a smooth bridge. Paragraphing is used sufficiently, aligning with Band 6 standards.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, demonstrating an attempt to incorporate less common items such as 'autonomous vehicles', 'transit riders', and 'traffic congestion'. However, there are frequent inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and word formation, such as 'all kind of vehicles', 'transit riders' used awkwardly, 'exhaust' instead of 'exhaustion', and 'repair petite problems'. These errors do not severely impede communication, but they restrict the score to a Band 5.5 or 6.0 range. Given the clarity of the core message despite the lexical slips, a Band 6.0 is appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but grammatical accuracy is weak throughout the text. There are numerous basic errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('the person who are bringing', 'there will any problem occur'), fragment sentences ('While the individuals that will travel in the cars will be the only transit riders.'), and incorrect prepositions ('come in market'). While these errors rarely completely obscure the meaning, their high frequency prevents the writer from achieving a Band 6.0, as error-free sentences are not in the majority.
