Student answer (Band 5.0)

The technology is developing each day with advancement evertime making the auto mobiles run by itself with the help of system integrated within them. With this technology people are now more into the passenger seat rather than behind the wheels, making it have advantages but more of the disadvantage for everyone.

As self driving vechiles are being common in modern era, many in future would have driverless making people stay and enjoy the ride as passenger without stressing out and focusing on the road and condition, they just relax and reach there destination in ease. For instances, as the vechile become driveless, the people can simply reach the distination with postive and energytic mood as the haptic work of driving is avoided from it. So, even the long trip or ride can be taken as relaxation for people.

However, as driveless is integrated with system which may disfunction during the trip or ride causing accident. Also system could have difficulty in understanding the road conditions and situation and tackle it as complex things might occur during it and human not able to do anything. For example: While riding the driveless vechile, the system might automatically drive passed thr accident area rather than stopping there to help as the human would do making sympathy less in the world. Therefore, its instinct of human to help other which might not be of system machine of driveless vechile.

In conclusion, there are benefits of all the vehicles being driverless and people only being passengers, but there would be some cases where system need human interfence to tackle the situtaion and driveless fail in it such as in bad road conditions, oberving the exeternal environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of driverless vehicles, presenting a clear overall stance that the disadvantages outweigh the benefits. The ideas, however, are somewhat restricted and lack full development. For example, the advantage of relaxation during a trip is introduced, but it is not thoroughly extended with detailed supporting examples beyond a brief mention of avoiding the haptic work of driving. Similarly, the disadvantages focusing on system malfunction and lack of human sympathy are understandable, but remain basic. The conclusion reiterates the stance adequately. Overall, the performance aligns with the requirements for Band 5.0, as it addresses the task and attempts to present arguments, but the development remains limited and repetitive in places.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is divided into four distinct paragraphs, including an introduction, two body paragraphs representing each side, and a conclusion. There is a basic attempt at logical organisation, demonstrated by transition signals such as 'As self driving vechiles are being common', 'However', and 'In conclusion'. Nevertheless, overall progression is hindered by awkward phrasing, run-on sentences, and repetitive referencing. For instance, the second paragraph links ideas somewhat mechanically, and the relationship between sentences in the third paragraph becomes strained due to grammar issues and unclear referencing. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often inaccurate or inadequate, reflecting a Band 5.0 level where organisation is present but overall flow is frequently disrupted.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The lexical resource used in the text is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The student attempts to use some less common vocabulary, such as 'integrated', 'malfunction', 'sympathy', and 'interference', but these are frequently accompanied by spelling, word choice, or word formation errors (e.g., 'vechiles', 'driveless', 'distination', 'postive', 'energytic', 'haptic', 'disfunction', 'oberving'). These lexical errors and awkward collocations, such as 'haptic work of driving' or 'reach there destination in ease', cause noticeable strain for the reader and restrict the vocabulary score to a Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0 based on positive achievement of basic meaning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The text displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences or overly long, convoluted complex sentences that lack control. Frequent errors in tense, agreement, article use, and prepositional phrases are present throughout, such as 'advancement evertime making the auto mobiles run by itself' and 'system need human interfence to tackle the situtaion and driveless fail in it'. Punctuation is also weak, leading to long run-on sentences without appropriate pauses or periods. Because errors are frequent and occasionally cause difficulty for the reader in parsing meaning, the writing fits the Band 4.0 or 5.0 descriptors, leaning towards a solid Band 4.5, which is awarded as 4.5.
