Student answer (Band 5.5)

In some time all vehicals like cars, buses, and trucks can run without driver. As a result the only person travelling inside the vehicles will be passengers.

There are many advantages of driverless vehicles. As a result many individuals can travel without appropriate knowledge of driving. In addition to that people will be able to go from one end to another end of the country or travel long distances without taking stress about driving and the tiredness of driving through long roads.

Life of makind will going to be more comfortable and easier in the cars and the accuracy might differ from humans. Basically, the cars will run using artificial intelligence.

Although there is a good side of driverless cars and public transport, the drawbacks should not be ignored. Firstly, Many drivers who have only one income source might lose their job as driverless cars takeover the market. due to these not only unemployement but also crime rate of many contries will start to grow. on the top of that the driverless cars will be run and controlled by ai. Definately AI is more intelligent or accurate than human but at the end it is only computer therefore it doesnot have emotions as humans. if any malfunction happen because of this it can kill someone or create a major issue. Lastly, There are many consiquences of giving authority to AI. Additionally, the rate of road accidents might rise. for instance, I had read a news on internet that showed the Tesla car hit many people on the foothpath as it tries to save the car from touching other car. as a resuly many individuals had lose their lives.

In conclusion, I believe there are many advantages of changing manual vehicles into an automated once. in contrast, i don't thing any facillity can outweigh the severe drawback As it can take someones life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of driverless vehicles, ultimately taking a clear position in the conclusion. The student presents relevant ideas, such as convenience and reduced stress for passengers, alongside potential drawbacks like job losses for professional drivers and safety risks associated with artificial intelligence. However, some arguments remain underdeveloped and rely on over-generalisation rather than thorough extension. For instance, the point regarding employment is introduced but not fully elaborated with nuanced economic impacts. Additionally, the supporting example concerning the Tesla incident is slightly generalised. Despite these limitations in depth, the core task requirements are fulfilled adequately, matching the expectations for a Band 6.0 performance where all parts are addressed with relevant, albeit somewhat simplistic, ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the response into an introduction, body paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct themes. However, the use of cohesive devices is frequently mechanical or repetitive, as seen in the excessive reliance on transitional phrases like 'As a result', 'In addition to that', and 'Lastly'. Furthermore, referencing and logical progression occasionally falter, such as the abrupt transition between sentences in the second body paragraph. Paragraph breaks within the discussion of disadvantages are slightly disjointed, and pronoun referencing (e.g., 'due to these') lacks precision. Overall, the organizational structure is functional but exhibits weaknesses in cohesive control, aligning with Band 5.5.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range for the task, successfully communicating everyday concepts related to transport and technology. There are attempts to incorporate less common lexical items, such as 'artificial intelligence', 'malfunction', and 'consequences', but these are accompanied by noticeable spelling errors ('vehicals', 'makind', 'unemployement', 'contries', 'consiquences', 'facillity') and word choice inaccuracies ('taking stress', 'automated once'). While these errors do not severely impede overall comprehension, they occur frequently enough to restrict the lexical score. The use of repetitive phrasing ('many advantages', 'many drivers') further limits lexical flexibility, placing the response firmly at Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, including conditional and relative clauses (e.g., 'if any malfunction happen because of this it can kill someone'). However, the essay is marred by a high frequency of grammatical and punctuation errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('driverless cars will be run', 'it doesnot'), tense inconsistencies ('Life of makind will going to be'), missing capitalisation, and run-on sentences. Punctuation is often neglected or misused, particularly around conjunctions and commas. Because errors are frequent and occasionally require the reader to slow down or re-read segments to grasp the intended meaning, the grammatical profile sits at Band 5.0.
