Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argued that in the future all cars, buses and trucks will be driverless. The only people travelling inside these vehicles will be passengers. Althogh, this development creats some problems. I beleive that there are several benefits than drawbacks.
First of all, one major advantage of driveless such as cars, buses, and trucks have save the time for passengers. By using cameras and sensor they provide the safety of road. This technology detect any person and vehicles in front of him. We can speed slow or fast automatecally by using different tools. Driveless buses and cars are confirtable than others.
Moreover, people can easily travel by using driveless vehicles. Automatic vehicles provide more safety from any accidents. People can save the time by using this types of he vehicles. Driveless buses are very beneficials for dissables person because they provide confirtable environments. This could reduce the number of accidents. Due to driveless vehicles they may slow down and detect any person and other vehicles when in front of him. Therefore, te journey will be save and confirtable by using driveless buses.
However, driveless vehicles have several disadvantages. This technology increase unemployment because professional drivers will be jobless after this development. Million of the taxi drivers, truck drivers, and car drivers may be jobless. Therefore, unemployment rate will be increase in future. Technology may be fail some technival issues it may cause of accidents.
In conclusion, driverless vehicles may cause job losses and technical problems, but they can also make roads safer and allow people to use their travelling time more effectively. Therefore, I believe the advantages of driverless vehicles outweigh the disadvantages if the technology is properly tested and controlled.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of driverless vehicles and presents a clear position that the advantages outweigh the drawbacks. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the points about safety, reducing accidents, and saving time are reiterated across multiple paragraphs without being significantly extended. There are also sweeping generalisations, such as stating that millions of drivers will instantly become jobless without exploring mitigating factors or nuances. While the main stance is clear throughout, the support for the ideas remains at a basic level, aligning well with the Band 6 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a recognisable introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Paragraphing is used to separate the advantages and disadvantages. However, cohesion within sentences and paragraphs is frequently faulty or mechanical. The writer relies heavily on basic and repetitive connectors, such as "First of all", "Moreover", and "However". Furthermore, referencing is sometimes unclear, notably in sentences like "This technology detect any person and vehicles in front of him", where the pronoun "him" is used incorrectly to refer to vehicles or technology. There is also an issue with sentence fragmentation and abrupt transitions, which prevents a smoother logical progression, placing this performance at Band 5.5.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate their basic arguments about driverless vehicles, traffic safety, and unemployment. However, there are numerous lexical and spelling errors that detract from the overall quality, such as "Althogh" for although, "creats" for creates, "beleive" for believe, "driveless" for driverless, "confirtable" for comfortable, "autometcally" for automatically, "dissables" for disabled, "technival" for technical, and "save" for safe. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as "unemployment rate" and "professional drivers", but the high frequency of spelling and word-form errors places this clearly at Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and some complex sentence forms, such as conditional and modal structures ("if the technology is properly tested and controlled"). However, grammatical accuracy is weak. There are frequent errors in verb-subject agreement and tense usage, such as "one major advantage... have save", "Technology may be fail", and "unemployment rate will be increase". Prepositions and articles are also misused or omitted frequently, for example, "save the time for passengers" and "for dissables person". While communication is not entirely impeded, the high density of basic grammatical errors means the response falls short of Band 6, fitting the Band 5 descriptor.
