IELTS Writing Task 2 question

In the future all cars, buses and trucks will be driverless. The only people travelling inside these vehicles will be passengers.

Do you think the advantages of driverless vehicles outweigh the disadvantages?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is often argued by some people that all the cars, buses and the trucks will be driverless and only passengers are inside these vehicles. Although some might consider it negative, I believe it to be extremely beneficial. Not only because of safe and comfortable journey and no traffic problem, but also because of everything on time.

There are a lot of advantages associated with automatic vehicles. Firstly, these vehicles will provide a safe and a comfortable journey. As these vehicles will be autometic and reduce the threat of accidents. For example, the owner of Necola Tesla says, the driverless vehicles will have high class sencors and reduce the risk of accidents completely. Thus, this advantage proves this development a positive development.

Secondly, autometic vehicles will solve the traffic problems. As there will be no driver in these vehicles, and no violation of rules. For instance, a survey conducted in America, which concluded that the reason traffic problems is to break the traffic rules. Hence, this advantage also caryy a lot of weightage to prove this development a positive development.

Finally, driverless vehicles will do all works on time. As there will be no traffic issue and no accident risk. For example, the president of Nepal said, in 2038,

To sum up, autometic vehicles will have some drawbacks too, but I believe that it brings advantages in term of save and comfortable drive, no traffic violation and on time proves this development overall positive one.
