Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is the widely consemption that in coming era, due to artificial intelligence, all the vehicles are going to be driverless and only passengers are the individuals that are going to sit in these sort of transport. I personally believed that the disadvantages of this trend completely outweighs its advantages because this is tne only the perception of the peoples while in reality this move will brings a sense of danger among citizens.

The first and foremost reason for my point of view is that AI will never match the level of human beings is just because it is practically experimented that in certain cases, robot drivers were unable to take immediate actions in case of alert signal which results in form of accidents. For Instance, If a human driver is on the road in comparison with robot, he can manage the worse scenario like break failure with his quick actions like alerting the other cars by passing the signal or try to manage it well. Futhermore, my other reason for this perception is that it is always easy for humans to understand other driver actions on the road, whereas in case of robotic AI drivers, It is very un-predictable for a in-person driver to predict or understand what action will ai driven vehicle will take, which also turns in road accident.

In some parts of world, like Japan, Russia where a proper training is availabe for inhabitants about some advantages of passenger less cars. The main benefit is that there is no need of driver which is the main requirement in traditional countries. Peoples dont need to wait for drivers to complete their duties who dont now how to drive. Nevertheless, this is not the most demanding facility of citizens from technology in coming times.

On balance, while this driverless technology presents some benefits in some nations, In my opinion the drawbacks of this trend are more siginificant because in many states peoples are not well educated about its use and this creates a sense of danger on road. Moreover, humans have the ability to took sudden action even in bad scenarios to avoid a road accident.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The student addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position on whether the advantages of driverless vehicles outweigh the disadvantages. A clear stance is established in the introduction ('I personally believed that the disadvantages of this trend completely outweighs its advantages') and maintained throughout the essay. Relevant ideas are presented to support this position, such as the perceived danger of AI compared to human intuition in emergency situations. However, some arguments are under-developed or rely on broad generalisations rather than fully extended analysis. For instance, the mention of Japan and Russia introduces a potential counter-argument about benefits, but it is not clearly integrated to fully substantiate the overall reasoning. Consequently, the response sits comfortably within Band 6.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph structure, moving from an introduction to body paragraphs discussing distinct points, and concluding with a balanced summary. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different arguments. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. While cohesive devices like 'The first and foremost reason', 'Futhermore', and 'On balance' are attempted, referencing and linking are occasionally awkward or repetitive (e.g., 'my other reason for this perception is that...'). Furthermore, referencing pronouns occasionally lacks precision, which slightly disrupts the logical flow between sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student attempts an adequate range of vocabulary suitable for the task, incorporating terms such as 'artificial intelligence', 'emergency', and 'traditional countries'. However, there are numerous noticeable lexical and spelling errors that detract from the overall quality, such as 'consemption' for assumption/consensus, 'tne' for the, 'peoples' for people, 'un-predictable', and 'siginificant'. The use of less common items often lacks precise collocation or accurate word form, as seen in 'passenger less cars' and 'took sudden action'. Although communication is generally maintained, the frequency of word-choice and spelling errors prevents the lexical score from reaching Band 6.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The essay exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt at varied syntactic structures (e.g., conditional-style clauses and relative clauses). However, grammatical accuracy is weak throughout the response. There are frequent errors in tense consistency, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions, such as 'all the vehicles are going to be driverless', 'will brings', 'what action will ai driven vehicle will take', and 'inhabitants about some advantages'. Additionally, punctuation and article usage are frequently flawed. These persistent errors can cause occasional difficulty for the reader, aligning the grammar performance with Band 5.
