Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays because of technological advancements all the man- driven machines are converting into digital and robotic machinery. It is often argued that all vehicles such as cars, buses and trucks will be driven without any human assist. Travellers can commute anywhere without assistance of any human. I agree that the transport system of a country should be equiped with modern technology but the accuracy and management of human force can never be replaced by the digital machinary.
Although digital machines make human life more comfortable and fast-paced, these are also have a capacity to make human life more challenging. As when people start to relay more on automated machines such as transport vehicles without drivers then shortage of employment can occur in a community. For example, houshelpers are replaced by automatic and robotic cleaners. Many drivers then face financial instability in a society that can directly put a pressure on the economy of the country. Additionally, driving is a skill that involved technical experties and creativity of a person. At some kind of trouble these driveless buses and cars can not react as a human. such as during accidental conditions. These robotic machines can drive cars and buses more swiftely and speedly but can not work as humainly.
On the other hand, there are different kinds of advantages can be achieve through this innovation. These vehicles can help the traffic run smoothly and speedly. For instance, a driver can make mistakes unintentionally that can results in many detrimental effects like accidents, vehicles and roads damage. But these types of mistakes can decrease by digital machines. Moreover, new generation mostly depend on the technical devices, they feel more comfortable with this kind of transport. Because they want to reach anyywhere within minutes.
In conclusion, I believe that due to scientific progress, human force partially replaced by robotes and digital tools. But these tools and robotic work can never fully overcome the need of human. Human can react and manage the situations more precisely compared to machines. So advantages of driveless cars, buses and trucks cannot outweigh the disadvantages of it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both advantages and disadvantages of driverless vehicles, while presenting a clear position that the disadvantages outweigh the benefits. The ideas presented are generally relevant, fulfilling the baseline requirements for the mid-level bands. However, some ideas are under-developed or lack sufficient extension. For instance, the point regarding employment is supported by introducing a slightly off-topic example about household helpers rather than focusing directly on professional drivers and transport workers. To move towards higher bands, the writer needs to fully develop all main points with more precise, directly relevant examples and deeper analysis rather than relying on brief assertions.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance stated in the introduction and reiterated in the conclusion. Paragraphing is used to separate distinct ideas, grouping disadvantages in the second paragraph and advantages in the third. However, cohesion is at times mechanical or faulty. The transitions between sentences can feel abrupt, and referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the pronoun use in sentences like 'these are also have a capacity'. While logical organisation is evident and progression is maintained, the use of cohesive devices needs to become more flexible and natural to achieve higher bands.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate main ideas about technology and transport. There are attempts to use less common items such as 'technological advancements', 'financial instability', and 'detrimental effects', which shows an effort to expand the lexical range. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling throughout the essay, including 'man- driven', 'assist' instead of 'assistance', 'equiped', 'machinary', 'relay' instead of 'rely', 'houshelpers', 'experties', 'driveless', 'swiftely', 'speedly', 'humainly', and 'robotes'. These lexical slips and spelling inaccuracies indicate a lack of precision, capping the score at this level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay displays a mix of simple and some complex sentence forms, attempting structures such as conditional and concessive clauses. However, control over grammar is inconsistent. There are frequent basic errors in verb forms, articles, prepositions, and sentence structure, such as 'all the man- driven machines are converting into', 'these are also have a capacity', 'driving is a skill that involved', 'At some kind of trouble', and 'there are different kinds of advantages can be achieve'. While these errors rarely completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to restrict the writing from reaching higher bands where a majority of error-free sentences is required.
