Student answer (Band 5.5)

At which pace technology for driverless vehicles is evelvoing, it is not too far when all the vehicles will be driverless. At that time we will not need any driver, we could enjoy our ride jsut as passengers. I think this development will have more advantages then it's disadvantages.

In contemponary times, Artificial intelligence has developed to certain level at whcih it is able to make decisions without any humen interfearence. This technology will definetely helps us to achive fully driverless vehicles. Driverless vehicles use computer systems to drive a vehicle which siginificently reduces the chances of accidents. Another advantage is fast decision making. As human while driving, we need some time before making any decision but this time can drestically reduce in the case of self driving vehicles. Whic can be life saving.

Another major benifite is accuracy. Self driving cars has it's own computetional system which helps to drive more accurately. As human driver we can loss our accuracy after long drive but driverless vehicles does not loss it's accuracy at any time. Driverless vehicles can drive longer hours at same accuracy. Although there are some disadvantages of driverless vehicles such as softwer error or power cuts but this can be solved by suppling alternative power supply.

I belive advantages of driverless vehicles outweigh the disadvantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the main prompt by taking a clear position that the advantages of driverless vehicles outweigh the disadvantages, though the ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed. While you mention reduced accidents, fast decision-making, and accuracy, these points are presented briefly without sufficient extension or detailed examples. Furthermore, the length requirement is not met; the essay falls significantly short of the 250-word minimum, which restricts your ability to fully explore the topic. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your arguments with more robust explanations, relevant real-world examples, and ensure you meet the required word count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is a basic organizational structure present with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion. However, the overall progression lacks smooth transitions between ideas, resulting in a somewhat disjointed flow. Cohesive devices are used, but they tend to be repetitive or mechanically applied, such as the repeated use of 'Another advantage' and 'Another major benifite'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the concluding section is underdeveloped, consisting of only a single sentence. To improve in this area, you should use a wider variety of cohesive links to connect sentences and paragraphs more naturally, ensuring a clearer logical progression throughout the essay.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task, with noticeable errors in spelling, word formation, and word choice that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Words such as 'evelvoing', 'contemponary', 'humen', 'interfearence', 'siginificently', 'drestically', 'Whic', 'benifite', 'computetional', 'loss', and 'softwer' demonstrate persistent spelling issues. While you attempt some topic-related vocabulary like 'Artificial intelligence' and 'alternative power supply', the frequent lexical inaccuracies restrict the precision of your writing. To achieve a higher score, you need to expand your range of vocabulary, improve spelling accuracy, and use more precise terms naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The essay relies on a limited range of sentence structures, and your attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, leading to frequent grammatical errors. For instance, the opening phrase 'At which pace technology for driverless vehicles is evelvoing' contains awkward phrasing and incorrect preposition use. Other issues include subject-verb agreement problems, such as 'Self driving cars has it's own computetional system' and 'driverless vehicles does not loss it's accuracy'. Punctuation and article usage also show frequent errors that cause some difficulty for the reader. To progress, you need to practise a greater variety of complex grammatical structures and improve your control over basic sentence mechanics.
