Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is argued that technology has overtaken the need of human in different industries and this is increasing day by day. The introduction of autonomus car has lead to decrease in the driver community. It is believed that in future trucks and buses will also get autonomus like cars which are already driverless. In my opinion most of the drivers will lost their jobs if driverless vehicles are used by most of the people.
The advantages of these vehicle are that one can do there work while cars are being working at their own. These are useful if any student want to study and driver is not available so these can can drive automatically. If anyone is tired and does not have mood to drive it is useful at that time also. Take an example of Tesla company that produce vast majority of driverless cars, one of the most dominating car brand in America and these are sold all around the world by different people.
However there are many disadvantages as loss of the skill is one of the important. If people doesnot drive cars they might lost there driving skills. Drivers who had there job will lost it and will be of no use if they have no other skills.Accidents will be more due to the less intelligence of Ai as compared to human brain. The sensors might not work properly in the rushy area.
In conclusion the use of driverless cars must not be increased as it will lead to loss in jobs which will have drastic effect on the family of the drivers as drivers may not have any other skills which will help them to feed their family and will suffer from hunger

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both advantages and disadvantages of driverless vehicles, presenting a clear position that the disadvantages outweigh the benefits due to job losses. However, the ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed. For example, the advantage regarding passengers being able to work or study is stated simply without extension or detailed examples. Similarly, the points raised in the conclusion regarding economic hardship and hunger are repetitive and lack full elaboration. To move to a higher level, the writer needs to expand on ideas with well-supported arguments and more specific examples rather than relying on brief, generalised statements.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay displays some basic organization, with an introduction, body paragraphs addressing advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion. However, there is a lack of clear overall progression between ideas. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion is frequently mechanical or repetitive, such as starting multiple sentences with 'These are useful' or 'It is useful'. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, as seen in the phrase 'one of the important' where the noun is missing. To improve, the writer should use a wider variety of cohesive devices more accurately and ensure logical transitions that smoothly connect sentences and paragraphs together.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and barely adequate for the task. There are noticeable lexical errors, such as misspelling 'autonomus' instead of autonomous, and awkward word choices like 'rushy area' instead of congested areas. The student attempts some less common vocabulary, but word formation and collocation errors are frequent, including 'lost their jobs' versus 'will lost their job'. These noticeable errors occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. To achieve a higher score, the writer must expand their lexical range, demonstrate better control of word forms and spelling, and use more precise phrasing suitable for academic writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The grammatical structures used are relatively limited, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside attempts at complex forms that are often faulty. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues like 'the advantages of these vehicle are', tense inconsistencies such as 'if people doesnot drive cars they might lost there driving skills', and missing articles or incorrect prepositions. These frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader and impede the flow of reading. To progress, the writer needs to demonstrate better control over basic sentence patterns, verb tenses, and punctuation while increasing the accuracy of complex sentence structures.
